Updating this build for 2.4!

This build was featured back in Diablofans news for Patch 2.3, so I've decided to update this build for the new patch, which requires you to hit GR45 without any set items. The wording makes it sound like you can no longer use any Set (Green) items at all, so I've adjusted the rings to the recommendations I had previously. I've also tailored the build towards the new Vengeance meta, which I had as a skill for the previous patch but is way more useful now due to the add-on gear. The Kanai's Cube Helm choice and Ring choice can be swapped around depending on what you've cubed.

You will generally need to get a bit of Cooldown Reduction from your gear (33-37% on your sheet) to keep maximum uptime on Vengeance.

Mandatory items

Weapons: Kanai's Cube is your friend for finding weapons. Find rare (yellow) 1 hand crossbows and 2 hand bows, then upgrade them! The increased difficulty compared to Patch 2.3 means you want a high DPS normal Yangs, or ideally an Ancient one.

As for the cube, Dawn is recommended but optional. If you choose not to use Dawn, I'd recommend skipping past Visage of Gunes for Hunter's Wrath (in the Kanai's Cube armour slot) and using a Witching Hour in your belt slot. Other alternatives for the cube would be: Calamity (extra damage), Cluckeye (extra disable).

Dead Man's Legacy (quiver) and Cindercoat (armour) should be easily attainable via Kadala. Generally we want the Cindercoat as a worn piece for the Fire Damage Skills damage increase, but if it rolls terribly you could use it as a cube effect which would make the Hunter's Wrath belt mandatory.

Rings/Amulet

I've taken out the Focus/Restraint combo from last patch so we'll be going with a combination of Stone of Jordan/Convention of Elements/Elusive Ring combination. You generally want to wear a Fire Damage Stone of Jordan and pick the better rolled of your CoE/Elusive Rings to wear, with the other ring going in the Jewelry Cube slot. Another defensive option would be to replace Elusive Ring with the Unity combo (you need 2 Unities at least, one for your follower and one worn/cubed, you follower also needs a 'Your follower cannot die' legendary token). You could even give up one of the ring combinations for an Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac as a 4th option, or a well rolled Oculus Ring as a 5th option. It really depends on how you feel your toughness is. Since I'm playing on Hardcore, I generally prefer the toughness, of 2 offensive rings and one defensive ring. If you are playing softcore, you could go for 3 offensive options and see how you go from there.

The Hellfire Amulet is pretty easy to attain now, as for the 5th passive, the top three would be: Ambush, Steady Aim and Night Stalker, with the next three decent passives being: Archery, Single Out, Leech. Otherwise any old amulet will do, try to get Fire Damage, Crit Chance, Crit Damage, but the usual Dexterity can replace Fire Damage.

Other Equipment

I'll make a special note for the Legs/Pants: You can apply what is known as the 'stutterstep' mechanic on Hexing Pants of Mr. Yan. The very simple explanation is that this item has a short delay before the debuff from standing still begins, so if you move your character straight after shooting you will still get the bonus damage and resource regen. I'm not the biggest fan of stutterstepping (actually I hate it, even though I subconsciously do it on multiple builds) so I didn't use it, I used Depth Diggers but any other Legs/Pants item will do otherwise.

Gems

Bane of the Trapper and Zei's are your standard damage increase gems, we no longer need Iceblink as the Thrill of the Hunt passive does a much better job of applying slows due to Multishot's large area of effect. I've gone with Ben of the Powerful for the extra damage, other 3rd gem options would be Gogok of Swiftness for some extra attack speed and cooldown or Taeguk.

Paragon Priorities

Core

Movement Speed
Primary Stat
Maximum Resource
Vitality

Offense

Cooldown Reduction
Critical Hit Damage
Critical Hit Chance
Attack Speed

Defense

Resist All
Armor
Life
Life Regeneration

Utility

Resource Cost Reduction
Life on Hit
Area Damage
Gold Find

Core: Same as normal Multishot Build, Movespeed to 25%, the rest into Primary Stat. With the amount of Resource Cost Reduction from the Yang's Recurve Bow, it doesn't really make sense to you extra points into more Hatred, but if you are running low on Hatred you could invest points there.

Offense: Cooldown Reduction is the first focus. then as you're likely to have more Critical Chance than Critical Hit Damage, I usually max this Critical Hit Damage first.

Defense: Resist All is usually the lowest so that is maxed first.

Utility: Resource Cost Reduction is the main aim, Life on Hit is useful, Area Damage isn't a big focus of this build.

Build Guide

Updated for 2.4!

I used this build to get the Super Human Conquest in Patch 2.3, but I haven't yet done it in 2.4, although others have used this build and succeeded. You do need some higher paragon levels and higher gem levels and be prepared to fish a little for a good rift but it is definitely achievable. The conquest is now slightly more difficult (Clear Greater Rift 45 without any set bonuses). Everything here should be applicable to the Softcore Thrill Conquest.

As this is a Hardcore Conquest, play it safe! If you're starting off and don't have many Greater Rift Keystones, check and time your progress on Torment 9/10 standard Nephalem Rifts (if you are low on Greater Rift Keys) to see how your clear times are and if survivability is an issue. Once you're comfortable with T10 rifts, then you should be set for the Conquest. (NOTE: As I had already completed the Superhuman Hardcore conquest with my Crusader Hammer build, I completed this on Softcore with the Thrill conquest in the video attached). If you are playing Hardcore, I recommend having a Paragon Level of around 500+, 55+ level gems, an ancient bow and gear which is more optimised as I've gone mostly offensive for this conquest in the video showcased.

The main playstyle is similar to the standard Multishot Build, where you cast your Wolf Companion just before the Fire comes around on your Convention Ring, then dump your hatred into Multishot during the Convention of Elements Ring Fire cycle, and in between that you use Evasive Fire (with the Hunter's Wrath belt) to recover hatred and shoot the odd Multishot if you have close to full hatred. Make sure to vault every 7-8 seconds so that you gain the defensive buff from Elusive Ring.
