Build Guide
As seen in the video, this build has the potential for sub 2 minute clears. 2-3 minutes is more typical for TX though.
This speed build is best suited for TX achievements, speed rifting for keystones, and legendary gem leveling from GR1-50.
Update (2/10/2016): Guide and build video are now based on higher paragon (also assuming some ancient and augmented items). For low paragon, I've listed a section below with the swaps you'll want.
-----
Playstyle:
- Your first elite pack kill will provide instant Teleport. Speed through enemies, Burning and Dotting them up. On elites, use your cold signature to proc the 2nd half of F&R and use Supermassive to group and CC. Prism provides shielding and resource. You're still pretty glassy, so be careful, especially around chargers, molten explosions, and grotesques.
-----
Concept:
- In-Geom supplies a crazy tick rate on EB + Woh, and near instant Teleport.
- Even when In-Geom is active, EB still has an ICD. I investigated the timing of this ICD (~.5s), and you can read more on it here.
- FB 4pc will tick for tremendous burn and bleed damage. This DoT is significantly increased by the Tal Rasha 6pc bonus.
- We leverage Prism in combination with In-Geom to get the resource required for consistent casting of EB.
- You'll want to run with Templar (Inspire) when solo. Equip him with items that give additional exp, magic find and / or some gold find.
- Use Black Hole sparingly to conserve resource. Note APoC on source is an option if you feel you need more.
- 50% CDR is recommended. Teleport's cooldown is 11 seconds base. When you subtract the 10 with In-Geom, you still have a 1 second gap. You need at least 50% CDR to reduce that remaining Cooldown down to less than .5 seconds, which is the ICD of Teleport.
- Illusory + In-Geom is great for running through enemies, rather than skipping over them like you would with Aether Walker. With Teleport not costing AP you can pick up a different spender, such as Supermassive.
- Krelm's Belt will provide additional run speed. With In-Geom, Diamond Skin will be active longer and promote uptime. Other speed boosts include: Scramble + Illusionist + Warzechians + Wreath of Lightning + Hoarder.
- A quick note on configuration: I use the numlock method for ease of casting EB and DS. Slot Teleport on your left click skill slot, and use force stand when you want to Teleport. This allows you to left click and continue movement without having to use force move. =)
-----
On Tal / FB set items, the only mandatory slots are:
- FB shoulder: The Tal set doesn't have a shoulder slot, so you need to take advantage of that and use FB there.
- FB source provides Fire%, which is better than the %Meteor from Tal's source.
- Tal's chest rolls with 4 affixes instead of 3, so pick that up as well.
-----
Legendary Gems:
- Trapped is required.
For the other gems, pick two of the following:
- Wreath of Lightning (speed option)
- Hoarder (TX gold farming, more info below)
- Powerful (elite focus / damage option)
-----
Alternate Options:
- For more offense, swap Galvanizing Ward for EE or Conflagration.
- For more defense, swap in Orb of Infinite Depth and / or Goldwrap.
- Nemesis Bracers (worn) are a good option if you don't like having them on swap, or prefer them for GR gem leveling.
- Homing Pads (on swap) can be great for cutting turn-in time on conquest achievements.
- Cosmic Strand is good for increased mobility. One out of every two Teleport ICD will be instant. Craftable.
-----
Low Paragon Variation (with old build video):
For low paragon, you'll want to run one of these gem combinations:
- Trapped / PE / Taeguk (@62% CDR)
- Trapped / PE / Powerful (@50% CDR)
- Trapped / Hoarder / PE or Powerful (@50% CDR)
With Taeguk, you'll want to slot 60%+ CDR in order to keep up the buff while In-Geom is down. Also consider slotting OID, or Goldwrap if you opt for Hoarder. These will increase defense.

Legendary Gem Leveling:
For GR1-50, use this build.
For GR51-65:
For DB/Gold farming: Check out my Tal6/Sage variation below.

Thank you for reading! Please upvote if you like the build.
Tried the TX build in speedy 50's. 2-3 min each. Awesome build, thanks!
This build is a blast and very very fast....I highly recommend it.
Finally i found creative build! Thanks for effort mate also ur build awesome i'm really excited
What do you think about the Orb of Infinite Depth?
Thank you everyone for the support and compliments! I hope you're having a good time running this in 2.4. I can't wait to get started on season 5.
Assuming your gear is optimized and you have a good level of paragon, I don't think it's really needed at TX. The TR 4pc and the FB 2pc combo is pretty solid at this difficulty.
For low paragon / Unoptimized setup, OID is certainly a good option. I've now included this on the build as an alternate item (Updated 2/10/2016).
Hi, great build. I love Explosive Blast more than any other spell in the game so I'm glad to see it return.
Woah, very nice guide. The layout is good, and it's informative and to the point. I like that you included a couple of alternative builds, and the video is a nice touch. This build looks like a ton fun, can't wait for season 5 tonight, and I will definitely be bookmarking this for later reference!
+1
Great build. Have you tried DB farming with this instead of your other build that's specific for DB farming? Just curious what the amount of DBs is in this in comparison
What about merc setup, anything there?
If you dont have a huge need for DB, then this should work fine. Earlier in the season I will likely be running my DB farm spec. After I get a few prized items though I may mix it up by running the swift burn. Youll still get 20+ or so DB during the run. If you're more going for rift keys, this build will likely be the better choice.
I feel like I'm missing something - I'm running this build with only 25% CDR (not prioritizing it at all) and I can spam teleport just fine.
I think you are putting to much effort on CDR when it matters very little. Especially when you have to stop to pick up Deaths breaths and legendaries. You do a GR in the video, but this isn't a GR build
I think when you take into account the fact that you have to stop to pick stuff up, the CDR doesn't matter much.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. But I've been running fine without CDR
You can also cast Storm armor to keep taeguk up if you happen to lose the stack
To me, prioritizing more damage stats makes a bigger difference (Exposive Blast on wand for isntance)
You need at least 50% CDR to get the Internal cooldown for Teleport reduced to .5s. Right now you're running at about .75s in between Teleport. Running low CDR also means it will take more time to proc your In-Geom when the buff is down. These things may seem small, but over the course of the entire run, they make a big difference.
It's primarily a speed build for TX, not a farming build. I've left gold farming as an option, and I'd suggest you equip Hoarder + Goldwrap for the extra defense if you're having issues picking up DB and items.
Edit (2/10/2016): Guide updated with TX video. Old GR45 is now here. Taeguk is now only listed with this low paragon variation only.
The build's main purpose is speed TX for achievements, rift keystones, and legendary gem leveling. If you're looking for a TX farming build, I've got a TX DB farming build here:
Good tip on the Storm Armor with Taeguk! I typically only cast this before rift level transitions, since AP can be scarce without an APoC roll.
I am using the numlock method, which won't cast EB instantly after it becomes 'available'. There is a slight delay. I've timed it out to be somewhere in the range of ~.3s-.5s. When you add in the .5 ICD for EB, that's up to 1s downtime between casts, assuming In-Geom is active. Even with this slight gap in casts, EB damage with the numlock is more than adequate, and more consistent.
Also make sure you have Prism + Inspire set, and that you are using Diamond skin as soon as it comes off cooldown, otherwise your EB casts will cost too much. Make sure you're not spamming Supermassive either, that will drain your AP quick. I usually only use Supermassive on elite packs.
If you're really concerned about resource, an easy way to get more is to slot APoC on source. Edit: Updated affixes section to include APoC on source as an option. Thank you!
You can read more on the resource calculation here:
Insane build man ty very much !!!
Hello. I can't wait to get the gear to try this build out, it looks like a lot of fun. I have do have 1 question though:
You mentioned this:
However, in the gear choices above, you do not have the 4 piece FB or the 6 piece TR set.
Which of those should I be going for? or are neither of them necessary if you have all the gear above.
Sorry for the confusion.
EDIT:: Nevermind... It's the ring in the cube that is making that possible. I'm dumb. sorry again.
Should i use this or quin's variant ???
Is supermassive required ? can i swap it out for frozen nova (mist) ?
FN:Mists + Lightning signature is also a good option. FN:Mists setup would be less resource intensive, and easier to manage since you don't have to think about activating anything but possibly your signature.
I prefer Supermassive for the cc / grouping on ranged elite packs. Since EB has such a small radius, at times you have to run all over the screen just to mop up one elite pack. Supermassive allows you to cc those elites that like to disperse on contact. It allows you to clear faster.
If you were looking for the build last night, I was editing and it got caught by the Dfans spam filter. Bagstone was gracious enough to help re-enable it quickly though.
