*This build is BASED on Thorns, so you want as much THORNS DAMAGE as possible!,
-
Good Information about HOW THORNS WORKS:

There is multiple good setups for Weapon/Shield, I'd recommend:
a) T10: DB + LW or AA
Solo Push: PS + AA
c) Grift Speeds: DB + AA
d) Grift Push: PS + VS or AA
* Having correct stats is the most important thing! So if your LW is perfectly rolled and ur AA is junk, then use ur LW.
** LW = Lidless Wall (shield) --- BTW a tip for all, if you need a better Lidless Wall, then craft it on a barbarian. Your 8 times more likely to get a Lidless Wall on a barbarian from blood shards and upgrading rares to legendaries with Death Breaths than on a crusader.
** DB = DoomBringer (weapon)
** PS = Pig Sticker (weapon)
** AA = Akarats Awakening (shield)

SKILL ROTATION: Law/Prophet > Iron Skin (Phys CoE) > Consecration > Punish
-
Great Tips / Suggestions for the build:
1. Use Iron Skin and Consecration / Bombardment when you have +200 % Physical dmg from CoE.
2. In order for Belt of Trove to use "Barrels of Spikes" rune you must have Bombardment equipped.
3. Most important part of Belt of Trove, is to keep up the 50 % DMG Reduction from (4) set bonus.
4. ... (make comment if u got suggestions)

Needs to be Tested (feel free to help test):
A) Sanguinary vambracers if they work with (2) piece invokers
B') Hack, if it works multipliactive with strg and how much % dmg increase it is
C) Omnislash belt, see if it makes Punish deal AOE dmg. Maybe even procs Hack.
D) Slash, use rune Zeal. Reaching 3 attack per second, might work with Hack!
E) Voy'Toyias Spiker, See if it works multipli- or additive. Works with skills or not? Better than arats awakening?
F) Iron Skin, if you use it before Consecration, does it work for 4 seconds or all 10 seconds?
G) Snapshot, is Iron Skin / Thorns dynamic or static?
H) Blood Brother vs. The Mortal Drama, which one is the best?
I) Block cap? Do we go way above block cap with Blood Brother?
H) ... (make comment if u got suggestions)

See this thread for proof on phys% being useless https://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo3Crusaders/comments/41psfg/invoker_interactions/ "It does not increase the damage dealt by the Invoker 6pc bonus regardless of the elemental rune of the base attack. In this video - https://youtu.be/bCuKVP1-zi8 - I hit some zombies for 25.4m with 20% physical damage equipped, then enchant that away and hit the same zombies for 25.4m"
The profile didnt show your ancient akarats, mind typing or screenshotting it?
If you have a spare compass rose, start rerolling it to get an ancient one and pray it has decent stats. CDR IAS is the dream
I too play with others and find that i don't get enough block to better use AA shield. I've cubed Vo'toyias spiker shield for provoke double thorns damage and to have provoke as one of my skills, so I can get more aggro from enemies that would otherwise focus on my friends. I've found this to work well with faster tx runs and grifts with others. I usually get rid of my law skill when running lower level grifts and get rid of consecration in higher level.
Hope this helps a bit?

Are you dying in 70s? Are you timing iron skin & consecrate with phys CoE rotation? Are you using law and AC whenever theyre up?
Thanks for the guide.
Here's my current state (I've since started using an ancient, damage rerolled Pig Sticker and I've got an ancient helm yesterday, not updated yet.. I don't know why my JL was without gems... odd). I only play seasonal HC, I've seen many question about it, here's what I've learned and tested.
This is a very viable build for HC, no need to swap any items, just socket diamonds instead of rubies and replace Finery with Indestructible. I'm going up the grifts like clockwork, only failing in bad maps because of the time. Did a 64 yesterday, barely took damage. Actually, the only things putting a dent on my HP are arcane orbs and molten enemies. It's the safest build I've ever played, since it doesn't depend so much on skills to mitigate damage (like leap barbs). This is why I don't think any survival legendary gems are needed, just BotT, BotS and Boyarsky. Clearing time is good, if the map is good and you know what you're doing (skip stragglers, pony to larger groups, kill elites, avoid shielded elites, etc.).
Hack vs. PS: My PS is ancient, so it has more STR and VIT and generally better rolls, but the main difference I noticed is how much better is the higher AS of the PS. It's what makes the most difference. I'm currently rerolling my hack hoping for and ancient version and (after 200+ rerolls to remove the damned damage) I'll test it.
AA vs. Spiker: CDR. Basically, AA far outperforms the Spiker not only because the spiker doesn't affect skills correctly, but also because the CDR given by AA is amazing. Against big groups of mobs, I'm usually in perma-iron skin+perma-consecration.
Aquila vs. HoI: This comes down to rolls. If you get a perfect Aquila, use it. Reroll secondary to thorns. If you've got a perfect Aquila, use it instead.
Just my two cent.
First of all thank you very much to Drahque and the many others contributing to this build.
I have read every single post on this build but I am having some confusion with regards to the value of thorns in relation to the stat priority. As it with specs involving secondaries, things tend to get a bit hairy. In my specific case, I'm unsure as to the value of 10,000 thorns versus 10% CDR (loose numbers, on a shield). I'm at 51% CDR now so I'm not at the desired 58-61%. And the shield is an AA and after spending every single blood shard and materials since the season started chasing it, I'd rather not screw it up.
It's not even close to a great AA but it's the only one I've got. And Blessed Shield Damage is useless and +Wrath is as well.
Any help to my specific case and to overall where Thorns is in relation to the rest of the stat priority would be appreciated.
should we be rolling rolling the dmg range off of our weapons for attack speed?
I got an ancient pig sticker with str/vit/cdr/loh and i have a gift for socket...is rolling dmg range for attack speed fine, since loh isn't terrible to have?
Hi guys, I have a question for this build.
Why using Akarat's Champion if it is need Bombardment as active skill with rune on thorns for Belt of the Trove?
In a situation where my weapon also rolled % damage, should I just roll that off instead?
Thanks!

Save good doombringers just incase you want to try an LoN build in the future though lol.
9500 Thorns or 1000 Vitality is my new question to the theorycrafters out there. Any possible guidance? Much appreciated.
Xvelocity 99% i would say ofc go for thorns at least from my experience,no doubt about it.i had the same question with you, went for thorns and won by far
Ohai.
can someone help a little bit? im kinda having troubles with GR70 (struggled a lot with 69. im playing with a friend Sader+DH just for fun). can kill the mobs fast but i feel like im made of paper, i tried switching between rubies and diamonds and i feel like its not working.
I'm switching Hack with Blood Brother in the kanai's cube when im im party with monks or something that makes me more tanky (not sure if its a good idea).
Shoud i waste paragon points in movespeed or yolo str?
" Edit: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Anluz-1915/hero/70992383 "
and last but not least
wich one of these shields should i use?
Ancient Spiker
or one of these AA's
Hey. I couldnt be bothered reading through 14 pages of comments so yeah.
I found that instead of taking the 30% block passive, Vigilant works good aswell (If you're like me, having 59% block without that passive). So you also take 20% less dmg from non-physical. For the rest, the build is working great, i'm pushing grift 65 with 3 ancient items and my highest gem (thorns) being lvl 45. (Bless the 350m toughness I have when all cd's blown, this is excluded travelers pledge set bonus because that one is not included).
Also, using slash with zeal (10x 1%) will net you with lower AS than using punish with 15%as
I found AA better than VS because of the CD reduction you get, more survivalibity and dmg overall tbh.
I will now try the omnislash belt and see if slash will do AoE dmg thorns (which frankly would be insanely OP, because right now our single-target dps is insane already) (i'm doing around 5000m per hit, with average gear). So far it does not look like omnislash makes thorns do AoE dmg.if phys % dmg is not needed anymore from what I'm seeing if people are saying it doesn't work with 6pc why is convention of elements still being used then? wouldn't vampbraces be a better choice if it works with 2pc?
Wouldn't you benefit from having bombardment on your bars so it can use a rune for the procs?
