In terms of the item build, there aren't many interchangeable choices.

Depending on which is the better, you'll interchange Mask of Jeram and Tasker and Theo in your Armor Cube slot. The other 5 slots need to be used for the Helltooth Set.

On the wrists, I prefer the consistent damage from Jeram's Bracers casting Wall of Death often (especially against mobs which can't be knocked back like Rift Guardians), but a suitable option would be to use Strongarm's Bracers, which procs off your Gargantuan's attacks. You can also find Life on Hit on your bracers instead of Vitality, which will help your healing.

With rings, you want to try to get Cooldown Reduction on them, while the Ring of Royal Grandeur unfortunately has a semi wasted stat slot due to it always rolling Primary Stat/Attack Speed/Life on Hit. While there might be some breakpoints to hit for the Pets damage (I haven't tested or researched at all), it's too much to give up the Cooldown Reduction/Crit Hit/Crit Damage on the rings so it'd be better to find a Short Man's Finger and Convention of Elements with the desired Primary rolls. If you need survivability, you could swap out the Convention of Elements for a Unity (be sure to put a Unity on your follower too!). I've added The Tall Man's Finger as an option as well, you'd need to drop Convention again, and I feel it's not worth the tradeoff for a Stronger Zombie Doge unless you use the Fire rune, which doesn't help with survivability. Convention of Elements is especially useful as we have multiple elements to better make use of its power (Fire: Gargantuan, Wall of Death, Fetishes from Belt/Poison: Grasp of the Dead/Physical: Zombie Doges).

Gems: Diamond in the helm, Topazes in your Chest and Pants. As for Legendary Gems, although I'd much like to use Gogok of Swiftness as a 3rd gem, Grasp of the Dead didn't seem to proc Gogok enough. As the theme of the build is to buff Pet damage by as much as possible, I've chosen Enforcer as the 3rd gem. Esoteric Alteration is a safe defensive choice, other good choices would Zei's Stone of Vengeance or Bane of the Powerful.

This is more of an endgame build (considering the requirements), so it is assumed you'd be Paragon 800+. Anyway you will likely find that you are a bit low on HP due to missing Vitality and Life% rolls on Helm socket, Shoulders, Bracers, Weapon and Mojo so you may need to divert Core Paragon points into Vitality after you've gotten to 25% Movement Speed.

Build Guide

Was bored, so started theorycrafting a Pets Helltooth build. I actually attempted a similar build with the Zunimassa set and it felt TERRIBLE, it worked much better with Helltooth even though I don't have all the required pieces, namely a godly ancient Starmetal Kukri, which I know will be impossible to find.

Basically you want as high an amount of Cooldown Reduction as possible, since you will not be in melee range to benefit from passives such as Grave Injustice, Confidence Ritual or Swampland Attunement, so you won't be running headfirst into packs of mobs, but rather kiting and casting your skills as much as possible. I tried a few alternative builds, but survivability becomes an issue GR50+ without these particular set of skills and items.

Gargantuans and Wall of Death will be the bulk of your damage as you'll be Fire Element based mainly, but you will get extra damage from the Helltooth set and Convention of Elements by using Grasp of the Dead and Zombie Doges. Grasp of the Dead will proc Bane of the Trapped reliably, Fetishes and Zombie Doges will give good defense with the Uhkapian Serpent mojo and by getting some Life on Hit on your Starmetal Kukri (if you somehow manage to find one with the required stats).

Options: For the Hellfire Amulet, the best 5th passive would either be Zombie Handler (for an additional Zombie doge and HP) or Jungle Fortitude (defense for both you and your pets).

I'd change the Zombie Doge rune to the cold Chilled to the Bone rune if you don't have life on hit on your weapon as well.

I will add some video highlights of some gameplay when I get a chance, in the meantime feel free to ask questions, I'm also streaming a fair bit on Twitch these days, so you can also ask questions or catch me at:http://www.twitch.tv/CrayonsMinD
