I will have an extensive video guide up soon covering the HoTA build in general with a focus on Istvan and the differences between the swords and gavel.
Whats your 5th passive with hellfire amulet?
Is the 6% CHC on helm really worth more than the 23% life you could get from a socket?
I know you lose the 4-5% CHC you would get from the missing 20-24 Fury on Mighty Weapons, but that still leaves you right around 90% total CHC.
Hey man, I'm trying your build out just to take a break from the gavel. Here's my profile: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/G0DL1K3D3V1L-1228/hero/67616664.
It breezed through GR 55 Solo, but when I tried GR 61 it kind of fizzled. Granted, I was having very bad lag, but in general would you say this build only shines once you have very high Paragon levels like 1000+? I've cubed Gavel, Strongarm Bracers, and Unity in case my BNET armory hasn't updated. Any tips for solo play?
Also, you weren't kidding about getting the gear. I lucked out in having a complete set of Istvan swords for reforging, but I know I can do better than what I have.
You're missing a few key rolls. Shoulders need Vit, Chest needs %Life or AR/Elite at least, Boots are missing HotA damage.
Thanks for the reply. I'll see if I can go about reforging stuff. All I know for sure is I need more vit somewhere too, and a better ancient set of Istvan's Paired Blades. I am still looking for a spare Little Rogue for reforging. How long do you think would it take for me to obtain it upgrading rares?
Sadly, there are a lot of 1h swords, so the probability is pretty low. But given upgrading doesn't cost any of the harder to get mats, I think your best bet would be to run rifts, shard to upgrade any armor you need and use the mats to make/upgrade swords. Maybe gamble on a Lv70 Monk since they have one less 1h sword in their pool compared to Barbs.
