Build Guide
Kinetic here with another Torment 10 Rift Farming Build!
This build has been through a lot of testing and changes to get to this point. Ultimately, it found itself in a very similar state as many other Whirlwind build, with a few exceptions. These few differences I think really help this build to stand out from the cookie cutter builds we've seen with little to no difference in gameplay or effects.
Torment 10 is challenging, but also less demanding when it comes to efficiency as with Greater Rift builds. In regular Torment 10 Rifts, there's a certain point when your damage is enough that it contributes to the party plenty, and more importantly, can stand on it's own in a solo run! I reached that mark with this build, and without sacrificing the one thing that I thought would make this build even more fun to play!
Having said that, let's start with the central piece that got me thinking in the first place...
HURRICANE!
Hurricane is a great Whirlwind Rune that pulls enemies without 35 meters to the center of where you are. This helps tremendously in so many ways in controlling enemies, stacking them together to activate damage multipliers, and many other benefits. No more irritating ranged trash mobs throwing damage at you from a safe distance. They're going to join in the pain whether they like it or not!
As stated with the itemization section, this build runs without a Unity, even in solo! This is achieved by a few key build designs that give it just the right amount of survivability, and squeezing in some big damage boosters in the process!
Ignore Pain/Pride of Cassius
Ignore Pain is probably the most important skill for our survival with this build. And its effectiveness is directly linked to the near required item, Pride of Cassius, which more or less doubles our Ignore Pain duration. This skill and belt will save your ass time, and time again when faced with Elite packs and Rift Guardians that are otherwise melting everyone else!
Nerves of Steel Passive
Now I've gotten in the habbit lately of trying NOT to have these 2nd life passives. By not using these passives as a crutch, it forces players to keep their focus and pay attention to what's going on. Similar to the excitement of Hardcore, the next hit could be the one that puts them on the ground! However, this build already sacrifices so much in survivability, including not using Unity in solo, that when Ignore Pain fails (which is rare), your potion is on cooldown, and the elite pack or Rift Guardian is throwing heavy attacks, this will mean the difference between life and death!
Bringing the Pain!
Everything else..legendary gems, armor, weapons, skills and passives and kanai cube items are all designed to deliver Mount Arreat amounts of PAIN! No more tanky Barbarian! This is the shit that's going to rip apart your foes! And you will bleed pints in the process! But play your skills right, stay focused, and you'll be the last man standing!
Charge in the fight with Furious Charge! Whirlwind and pull everyone into a nice pile. Threatening Shout to soften them up. And watch them tear into pieces from Dust Devils! Elite Pack? No problem! Wrath of the Berserker says "Hi!" Ignore Pain to heal a little after taking damage and spend the next 10+ seconds giving it back! Keep Battle Rage active at all times! Count to about 4. Furious Charge! Count to 4. Furious Charge! Count to 4. Furious Charge! And make sure you charge through as many enemies as you can, while also placing yourself in a position to then sit, whirlwind, and draw in any stragglers!
I changed the Phy % to cold % to enhance the damage done with the whirlwinds because they deal cold damage with hurricane rune. I also changed convention of elements to Skull Grasp in the cube because gives 400% weapon damage to your Whirlwinds. I am using the passive Bloodthirst over Nerves of Steel, this gives me 966 Life per Fury spent. These changes seem to help enhance the build for me. Very solid build, just tweeked it to fit my play style. If you play on the PS4 this build will work for you, it is what I play on. I +1 the build.
