alternatives:
cube RoRG and wear Frostburn
cube Yang's and wear Etrayu (although you'd lose out on the 50% RCR, so that's up to you, if you feel fine with your resource then go for it)
swap Archery for Steady Aim (once again, 8% damage on all the time, or 20% up most of the time, personal preference)
I'm not 100% up on legendary gems, I know BotT and Iceblink are mandatories, the interaction between them is too good, but I'm not 100% sold on BotS, you could also use Zei's Stone of Vengeance. Not sure which would be best.

Build Guide
This is a small guide I put together for my own personal use, just something I wanted to try out. I just made it for the purposes of referencing it later. I'd like to give credit to the user philosophios, as I essentially copied his guide, but swapped a few items and skills to make the build work as Cold. I've wanted to exploit Iceblink with a Cold DH build since S3, and I've finally gotten around to giving it a shot.
I didn't exactly intend this for public viewing, but if you see this, feedback is definitely welcomed and appreciated.
Dude, you are my fucking hero right now. I've been scratching my head trying to get a way to reliably solo proc BotT and CotW solo without Thunderfury Cube. I completely forgot about Iceblink which I generally kept to my monk. On a side note, outside of boss kill BotS is pretty worthless due to Internal CD (.5 sec or something). I'd def run Zei's Stone over BotS with IB and BotT.
But seriously thanks... I run on PS4 and we (for some unknown reason) can't run swords on our DH anymore. Its been driving me nuts, so truly thanks for going public with this.
Also you might consider trying to drop Seethe for Marked for Death Mortal Enemy (Calamity Synergy). I know you didn't want this for public but since it is you might make a mention of the Discipline on the pieces that can roll it in secondary (Bow, Quiver, and one of the armor slots that i can't remember off the top of my head).
That's my two cents on the possible flux and uncertainties in the build, thanks again and hope it helped a bit.
Hi there Sesh, thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed the guide and that it helped you.
A few things. I was also considering running BotP instead of BotS/Zei's. I'm not sure exactly how reliable the uptime on Zei's is. I've actually never used it, I normally play the Armageddon build (Nat's/Danetta's).
Um, I'm running Seethe atm because my gear isn't where I want it to be yet. I was testing this on my non-season character, before season started, so I don't have Yang's, I don't have Wraps of Clarity, and I don't have Hunter's Wrath. Without Yang's, I'm missing out on a LOT of RCR so I do run into Hatred problems occasionally (especially on Rift Guardians in high Grifts). So I was just running Seethe to get Hatred back occasionally, when I need it (since I can't run my other Hatred cooldown, Prep/Punishment with this build).
The other reason I was running Seethe is because I've been considering dropping Calamity out of the cube in favor of Rimeheart. I haven't tested it yet because I don't have a Rimeheart, but it seems like it might be good. I'm not sure how good the uptime would be on it. Since you're running on PS4 and can't run swords, that obviously doesn't help you at all, but it's something I was considering.
However if I do continue to run Calamity in the cube, then I will definitely drop Seethe for Mortal Enemy once I've gotten my gear where it needs to be and no longer have hatred issues.
As far as +Disc bonuses, we've got Bow, Quiver, Cloak. Manald Heal can also roll bonus Disc, but Manald Heal is kind of a shit ring, and you'd lose out on Focus+Restraint (which other users smarter than myself have proven is far better than 10 more Discipline as far as total damage output). Legacy SoJ can also have +Disc, but very few people still have one of those. Legacy Nat's 3piece also gives Disc, if I remember correctly.
Anyways, thanks for taking the time to read this and share your thoughts. Good luck in Sanctuary, and may all your loot be Legendary.
hey sesh.. the mortal enemy part piqued my interest... thanks too for bringing that up

I have been running something similar, but for the armor cube i use Cindercoat and the Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac so that i can use Vengance and Prep more often.
Cindercoat won't help you with this build, it's running Cold skills, and Cindercoat reduces the cost of Fire skills.
