Hi guys - Gabe here. Rank 44 Monk NA s3
I'm just here to share with you my seasonal/non-seasonal t7-9 speed farming build utilizing the r6 bonuses. It's perfect for non-seasonal play as well as seasonal and relatively easy to gear.
Just like the last season, you'll be fastest on open maps, however, even in low density tunnel tile sets you will manage to create and dispatch density with ease.
Stat Priorities:
Gameplay:
The basics are really simple. Find and elite / champ pack, dispatch it then cyclone in all trash around it then dash until you find another pack. Repeat this process until you spawn the rift guardian. Ideally you'll have your in-geom up the whole rift. With the Boon of the Hoarder and Goldwrap you have no need to worry about death except at the very start of the rift. Get a chest or kill some easy whites to get you started.
CUBE:
The Furnace - Great for slamming into those elite/champ packs and clearing them efficiently
Nemesis Bracers - More champ packs equals faster clears and more potential drops, including death's breaths.
Obsidian Ring - Cooldown reduction for more efficient dashes, spirit regen among other bonuses.
GEMS:
Bane of the Trapped - More damage.
Gogok of Swiftness - More attack speed and more CDR. Win win.
Boon of the Hoarder - More movement speed, gold (meh), and toughness with the Goldwrap combination.
Rotation:
Ideally you'll dash into the champ pack and 1 hit if, however, if you don't, cyclone it in and get your strongarm proc then hit it once more and it should die. Then repeat the process.
You can also use your active before you dash into your next champ pack should you not have enough damage to clean one hit.

Just heads up, The Guardian's Path gives you dodge, since you're dual-wielding, not spirit regen. So that bit in the video wasn't correct, and it's probably not a passive you're looking to use in your build.
Ahh yeah thanks, i use it for the dodge, i was just playing a build before this for regen. Appreciate the heads up, i'll throw an annotation in it later.
For Spirit Guards, you have %fire listed as top stat priority.
Don't you mean %holy?
ya
You probably could move that way and drop the cubed fd and go furnace instead, you'll still get about 3aps which is more than enough to be a little more liberal with your spam.
With that said however - I have adjusted this build and will be updating it with a new video and updated description; I've realised that its best to take more time on the text based guide as well as the video for those that don't wish to watch a video. So, thank you for the advice, its appreciated
Best in slot hellfire is, and always will be Beacon of Ytar. So getting that off your bar and moving it to the neck slot would be ideal then throwing momentum in the spare slot would be ideal. Determination is also a valid choice.
Stay tuned. The new guide will be up in the coming days. Just waiting on a few more items.
Thanks again!
trying to think of ways to apply sage's journey to this build for strictly farming death's breath... any thoughts? It's tough cause its impossible to keep the 6-set buff
Unfortunately not with this build. however in a party situation you can rotate using the sage's set around your party and get the doubles that way. In general however, just farming t8 will be fine on this set.
awesome thanks for your input!
No problem, There is a generator mangle spec that could be more to your liking here :Deaths Breath Farming Build 2.3 [ T6-T8] by noobfromhell
