Build Guide
Hello! If you don't want to play Hammerdin along with 99% of other crusaders
have a look at this build...
This hybrid Rolands build combines Sweep attack and Shield Bash, the way it
should have been released back in 2.2. It would have been better with
lightning and crowd control, but those have been nerfed in 2.3.
Shield Bash solo enemies up to 3 enemies. More than 3 enemies use Sweep Attack
against them.
Shield Glare and Provoke are used to generate wrath and
for crowd control.
Use unity for solo play, FIRE Stone of Jordan for group play.
For bounty farming substitute Steed Charge for Provoke.
PRO tip from a non-pro.
If you use fire as elemental damage, and you can find
a Star of Azkaranth, reflect damage will heal you through your fire damage.
Same applies to lightning
damage and a Xephirian amulet.
Poison=Mara's, Cold=Aranoch

This is what I played with when I first hit 70 except I used Gathering Sweep to set up the shield bash. So much more fun than Hammers
Didn't realize this was a barbarian crusader build. Those Raekor's must be what's making this so much better than the 60+ hammerdin builds.
I never said this was better than the hammerdin build. It is more fun than spamming hammers all day though.
Build doesn't seem to excel at anything. Fun indeed, but the damage is lackluster - the survival is okay, but only because you're stacking two defensive gems. Seems wasteful, but fun.
Totally agree. Been playing the Hammerdin since 2.3 came out but I get tired of it pretty quickly and always come back to my Sweep/Bash. It just feels more like the way a Crusader should feel. But, take that all with a grain of salt, I'm really into the aesthetics and love all the story elements and tone which is why I feel the Sweep/Bash fits more in line with the Crusader.
