Convention of Elements
Weapon - You can use vitality over attack speed on weapon if extra defense is needed.
Hellfire Amulet - brawler should be your 5th passive, You can also use nerves of steel for higher gr.
Chest - Str, Vit, Elite Reduction, socket is only good if you have a secondary resist of physical. I find non ancient IK chests with these stats are fine to use and you can make them easily in your cube.
Secondary Resists - Any piece of gear that has no all res and can roll a secondary res should have mostly physical, lightning is second best and 1 or 2 pieces of light res is good.
Gems - Throw up between diamonds and rubys, diamonds might be a little better. Use a life 23% gem in helm as it will be doubled by leorics crown in your cube.

Make sure to grab max fury in paragon because hammer of the ancients gains 1% crit for every 5 fury you have. So 50 max fury in para is 10% crit to hammer of the ancients. You can grab a few points in vitality here over str if needed but its not recommended.
Build Guide
Hey guys Chainer here from twitch.tv/chainerfails
If you have any questions or want to hang out come stop by my live stream.
This is an Immortal Kings Hammer of the Ancients build based around high end greater rift progression in groups. This build brings very high single target and aoe damage but has very little sustain. A zdps heal monk in your group is required to play this build as it will provide you 55% damage reduction, over 450k life per second, 80% incoming damage debuff, 40% outgoing damage buff, 20% outgoing mob damage debuff, and stack mobs close together for your small radius on hammer of the ancients/area damage. We managed to finish at rank 1 2 player by the end of the 2.3 ptr so if you wanna see how this build works and the strategies used here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWJY-TPkrAU
let's try to get #1 EU Kappa
How come no 6% crit on helm?
with perfect gear you can get up to 98% crit w/o the helm. Vitality is needed tho and helm crit for 1k vit is the best trade off. you are squishy and need a high hp pool to avoid spike damage deaths
Fair enough, one thing to note though, you don't need Weapon Master passive because Gavel of Judgement and the Fury of the Ancients shoulders, along with furious charge keep you near full fury 100% of the time. You could switch this to another useful defensive or offensive passive. Maybe Superstition, Tough as nails, or the bloodthirsty one.
Hmm thats strange, couldnt tell you why. I stay at max fury almost 100% of the time with that setup. Also the Berserkers rage says "near maximum fury" so it even has some wiggle room. Using the wep and the shoulders, can vouch that I have 'zerkers rage up 100% of the time. Also both Battle Cry and FC generate fury as well. Only spenders in your build are Battle Rage and HOTA (which gets refunded by the weapon), so I have no idea what is using your fury..
Hey all , i have tried this build in gr 4ppl and its quite nice after 1 year of ww :-)
1) I did not need the "weapon master" passive to keep 100% fury so i changed it to "brawler"
2) Why use furious charge in this build ? i used the the throwing weapon primary skill with the 9 fury regeneration rune to proc the f+r even from a distance so i am semi ranged this way- good for survival . (furious charge is a bit risky )
3) For non season : can use teagok or resistance gem or bane of powerful
4) For speed farming: (bounties or t10 rifts) : The Bull katos build with sprint is by far the most efficient so this build (Hota) is best for gr
Your inputs are most welcome :-)
Heya, thanks for the great writeup.
I'll be playing a heal zdps monk in seasons, but trying to decide the best class for my partner who will be playing season 2s with me. Do you know how a U6 or spirit generator monk will compare to this barb build for season 4 2s (i.e. double monk vs monk + barb for 2s)? Thank you for any info you can provide!
Definitely a killer build, I can vouch for it. Good job brotha!
This build is also viable in solo play. I can clear t9 rift easily and I don't use focus/restraint ( 3 focus, no restraint:() I switched weapon master for the talent giving life regen on war cry as I always have full fury even without weapon master. I also cleared grift 40 alone with this build. I have no problem believing this can even go 50+ as everything die so fast.
Do u think chc needed in this build? Your only dmg is hota and it allready has chc from your fury. I think u can use +dmg in rings instead of chc.
thnx for this guide, i just don't understand how healing on urself works?
with ww barb u heal from crits, but how do u heal here?
1) Everybody benefits
2) You can put it in the cube and wear good rolled Bracers of the First Men or vice versa
3) The Strongarms Bracers buff is stackable meaning the more people in a party using it, the greater the benefit
4) If you have enough vitality (more than a million HP without the crown), you can remove Leoric's crown from the cube
but i saw him pull mobs from all over the place, how does he not die while doing that? In the video he said if he is low on hp he uses fc, just dont understand how that works.
Weapons Master?
Sure?
why not fire-dmg in amulet?
EDIT:
And why use the weapons master passive, ive run with it for some time, and then i took it off, and i didnt feel any different i still have my fury at max all the time, so i dont understand why i should i use? - maybe someone can explain?
- i also read the thing about the amulet, so i got that covered, now its just the passive thing
