Build Guide

The changes to Shenlong's and a combination of multiple set bonuses is allowing for a Spirit Generator to do crits in the billions at a really fast pace. Every piece of gear and basically every skill is a way to boost your spirit generator attacks in some way. Shenlong's is where it begins with the 2 piece bonus granting 1% damage with each point of spirit and then when you cap out at max spirit you do 300% damage, supplementing that with the Raiment 2-piece bonus that grants 25% increased Attack Speed and 300% increased damage for your Spirit Generators. Benefiting from Inna's 4-piece allows for increased survivability and damage.
__
Required set items in some combination are:
- Raiment Set (2-pieces)
- Inna's Set (4-piece)
- Shenlong's (Both weapons REQUIRED)
- Focus & Restraint (Both rings REQUIRED)
__
Kanai's Cube passives:
- Flying Dragon (to increase attack speed of your generators for building up Spirit and more damage overall)
- Depth Diggers (100% increase = double damage with spirit generator)
- Unity (For solo play. Use Band of the Rue Chambers or Convention of Elements in group play.)
__
Legendary Gems:
- Simplicity's Strength for the obvious reasons. It allows for more Spirit generator attack damage and once you have it at level 25 it will heal you. The really fast attack speed from your gear and skills will allow for you to heal quite rapidly.
- Bane of the Trapped is great because after using Cyclone Strike it will render all enemies slowed near and around you at level 25.
- Esoteric Alteration because you'll be taking lots of damage and some survivability is needed.
__
Skills:
Crippling Waves - Mangle allows for max damage all around and is one of the strongest Primary skills. Dashing Strike can go one of two directions. Using the Radiance rune allows for increased attack speed, but if toughness is an issue then use Blinding Speed for dodge chance. Cyclone Strike brings in lots of enemies around you and also triggers your F/R. Inner Sanctuary allows for amplified damage after using Cyclone Strike. Utilizing Epiphany w/Desert Shroud allows for survivability in key moments, as well as spirit generation. Instead of using Alacrity for a passive you can always switch to Harmony for more toughness instead. Just remember that Simplicity's Strength also = heals, so it can supplement the lack of toughness by doing more attacks overall and self-healing as a result.
__
Overview: The basic principle is to stack generator damage, increase attack speed, and balance crit damage/chance appropriately for max damage. Utilizing each of the set bonuses and all gear and Kanai's cube passives increases Primary skill damage significantly and your IAS acts as more damage and a healing bonus with Simplicity's Strength as well. Overall there's synergy from pretty much all skills and gear to create a significant amount of damage.
__
Play Style: Move into the middle of a large group of enemies, most likely with Dashing Strike, and then cast Cyclone Strike to bring every nearby enemy on top of you. Then cast Inner Sanctuary so they all take more damage and are slowed. Cast Cyclone Strike again as needed to bring enemies back to you. Dashing Strike will either increase your attack speed or grant more toughness depending on the rune you took. They are both beneficial in their own right. It also triggers your F/R combo. For tough mobs it's best to use Dashing Strike to either drop Spirit as needed so you can rebuild. One thing to note is that if you pop your Epiphany and have your Dashing Strike proc'd, you can maintain full Spirit when it's supposed to be dropping, thus maxing your damage. Overall, they all work together in their own right to do maximum damage with your spirit generator.

Video includes gameplay and details about the build as a whole.

PS This guide will be updated as the PTR progresses in case there are any changes. Other items such as the Spirit Guards will be a good choice once Season 3 items are available for all.
