Build Guide
- This video shows how much potential this build has
Witch doctors might be doing 61-62 at the end of this season
at first i was kinda embarresed to post the 59 clear on youtube, becouse in my opinion i played horrible and coulda saved atleast 2 minutes.
so i give you the 58 clear link aswell to showcase more of the gameplay https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfIyvVtIOy8 (Carnevil VS Greater Rift 58)
on the 59 clear you can see the true damage Witch Doctor has on the boss ( not gonna spoil anything )
-GamePlay
Stand in the back and shoot !!
No not realy ..
there are a couple of things you should focus on.
- Skip all elites possible ! reason behind this is Carnevil build is heavly focused on single target damage. if you encounter a blue pack and you are trying to kill it, the chance is big you will die ( 2 min cooldown on fetish army gg ) other thing is, if you finaly killed it, the chance is big you dident kill all of the blue elites (since you are shooting of screen when fighting most elites) the darts are so focused on single target that you might not hit all of the blue pack.
In very rare situations you CAN kill elites but mostly yellow unburied with easy affixes, why unburied? becouse as juicy as they are, they will follow you from england to tokyo without giving a damn, and they can screw over your 'dream rift'. </3
- Find Corners !
As you can see in my 58-59 clear i am looking for corners, main reason behind that is, you can use your pets to body block for you
if you are standing in a corner with all of your 23 fetishes in front of you, you are super safe ! even if the mobs are standing 3 yards in front of you (you stun em with Snake to the face rune anyways)
when standing in a corner most monsters will come towards you, so trow out that sexy piranhado for 100% confirm cleanup party.
- Stutterstep
This is very straight forward, but worth bringing up.
When there is for example one or two monster left with low hp, try to run shoot run shoot run shoot, towards the next room/pack of monsters
this sounds like a small thing but every second counts !
-Boss Fights
I will try to list all of the boss encounters with the following difficulties.
-Unknown (yet to fight him or not enough expiriance)
-Easy
-Medium
-Hard
-Impossible
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-Ferocity: Reason why you cant kill him is becouse he kills your pets faster than you can generate.
-Blighter: Very easy boss, just stay behind your pets and avoid he's predictable abilitys.
-Bloodmaw: hard but doable, try to outrange him and stutterstep when he is going to jump, main problem might be your pet survivability.
-Bone Warlock: Tricky and anoying boss, basicly dps race until around 40% then you need to time he's reflect damage. since you have to stop shoot when he reflects you cant generate pets from your passive, so most of the time you end up with around 10 pets = big dmg loss.
- Cold Snap: unknown
- Crusader King: unknown
- Ember: Easy boss overall, just make sure to avoid he's meteors / fireballs and unpredictable teleports.
-Erethon: this boss is just very very Frustrating to fight .. unpredicteble charges that makes you pull your hair out, just try to time it with spirit walk. but the chance is big that he charge for a second time after your spirit walk ends.
-Eskandiel: I would say this boss is medium difficulty, and depends a lot on what map he spawns on. i killed him quit easy in the silver spire before, but had a trouble fighting him in the keep depths map.
-Infernal Maiden: easy boss overall, just make sure your pets are no where near him becouse he one shot all of your pets otherwise with he's whirling melee strikes.
- Man Carver: very hard and can take about 4-5 min to kill on greater rift 55, the waller is a big dmg lose. and he can one shot you in a blink of an eye with he's chains. just hope that he spawns in an open map and try to outrange he's chain, and start crying when he walls when your ring proqs to poison xD.
-Orlash: teleport teleport teleport, decent boss to have, but from my expiriance he is pretty anoying. just run and shoot run and shoot.
-Perdition: simply one of the most broken bosses as carnevil, not becouse of the jump he does. simply becouse he kills all yes ALL of your pets in the procces, either kill him with a power pylon on 55 in 20 seconds or reset the game.
-Perendi: unknown
-Raiziel: unknown
-Rime: unknown
-Sand Shaper: unknown
-Satrix: unknown
-Stonesinger: what stoneboy not easy? no ... he kills your pets quit fast and he is now and then immume to projectiles. makes sure that your pets are not in range of him.
- Tethrys: just had him once, he was not to bad. but the circles on the ground can catch you by surprise! anoying thing is that he moves around so much.
-The Binder: dps race.
-The Choker: had this one on my 59 clear, but i played it risky since i was close on time and had to make good use of the power pylon, normaly you would just stand far away and shoot, only thing to avoid is the slowly moving green slime
-Hamelin: unknown
I will keep updating this list when i have more expiriance on the other bosses or when i notice somthing differend from the already listed bosses.
Well, thats all i can think of right now for the guide
if i spot somthing else worth mentioning i will edit this into this guide
i will keep this guide up to date !
I am also streaming my solo pushes so feel free to trow out a follow to see when i will be online !

Hey there, awesome guide. The Poison Dart break points was especially useful. One question: Why are people starting to lean more towards Grasp of the Dead over Haunt? Wouldn't the +damage% increase be more beneficial over slow? Again, thanks for the great guide.
Fair enough, I'll try out Grasp of the Dead tonight. I've just been spamming haunt 4-5 times on a big pack.. It's tedious haha
FYI, I had man carver on my previous 53 and 55 clears. Found him to be simply a walk over tbh being able to out range his skills. Killed him under 2 minutes on my 55. Can't remember exact time on rg but my rift clear for that was 11 minutes 6 seconds.
53 clear he was locked in act1 crypts corridor and 55 was act2 cave which was a bit more open.
An item question from me - Ancient Golden Gorget of Leoric or the Ess of Johan? I know the second one is recommended but it's a 17% difference in damage according to the ingame stats.
