Build Guide

Hello Guys,

I want to show you my build which I am using for generating high greater rift keys.
I will explain the build, the equip and the playstyle. In addition I have uploaded a video with all information mentioned in this thread. Basically it is important to deal a lot of aoe damage in a given time window and of course staying alive :D.

Build:

Call of the Ancients (Ancient's Fury):
Genereate the needed amount of fury too use our fury spenders.

Whrilwind (Hurricane):
Our main attack skill. The rune hurricane triggers the effect of strongarm bracers.

Rend (Bloodlust):
Dealing some additional damage and provide us with a constant heal.

Overpower (Momentum):
Dealing some additional damage and generate additional fury.

Battle Rage (Bloodshed):
Damage boost and gives us some AOE damage.

Wrath of the Berserker (Striding Giant):
Increases damage and toughness. Rune should be changed to insantiy if you use "double" unity.

Passives: Ruthless (more damage for the last hitpoints), Nerves of Steel (gives us a second chance), Rampage (damage and toughness boost), Brawler (even more damage :D )

Equip:

The basis for this build is the Wrath of the Wastes set and the Immortal Kings set.
We need to get at least the sixth bonus of WotW and the fourth bonus of IK.
Due to that fact the Ring of the royal Grandeur is mandatory just like the weapon and the belt of the ik set.
All other set slots (shoulders, helm, pants, boots, gloves, armor) could be choosen as you like as long as you achieve the mentioned set bonusses. In addition strongarm bracers are mandatory.
If you have the opportunity you should use a hellfire amulet with weapon master or beserker. In this case you can change the passive brawler to berserk or weapon master depending on the passive you have on your hellfire amulet. This leads to a small damage boost in case of groups and a huge damage boost if you fighting against less than three mobs. If you do not have a hellfire amulet as described you can use any amulet you like with the mentioned stat priorities.
Beside Convention of Elements you could use "double" unity (relic - "follower will not die" needed). In this case you should change the rune of Wrath of the Berseker to insanity.
Sockets should be filled with rubins or diamonds depending on your damage and toughness. The helm has to be socketed with a amethyst. The weapon should be socketed with an emerald. Obvious that you should use the highest quality of gems. Last but not least you should use Bane of the trapped, Pain enhancer and Taeguk.

Playstyle:

Once you are in the trial you call your ancients and wait for the first wave. You will not be able to do a lot of things due to the lack of fury at the start. As soon as the level raises your ancients will generate some fury. You should always keep overpower on cooldown and try to use it when you are standing in the middle of some mobs to generate additional fury.
Between level 30 - 40 you will be able to activate Battle Rage. Once you are above level 40 you should active Wrath of the Berserker and start to use Rend. Of course you constantly whirlwinding to deal damage and to activate the damage reduction of the Wrath of the Wastes set. Regarding Rend and Convention of Elements you should always try to use Rend when the physical buff of the ring is active to boost the damage of Rend. You should also spam overpower. It should be ready really fast due to lots of critical hits. In addition you have to use Rend to reset the cooldown of WotB. WotB needs to be up all the time - keep an eye on it!
Try to use your potion (Potion of Amplification) to avoid that nerves of steel get procced. If nerves of steel proccs you should use your potion if ready or collect some healthbubbles.
Try not to die and push it to the limit :D! If you die you can directly port to the town. There is no chance to finish a level 50+ wave if you had died.

This is the way it should be done.

Adjustments / Updates on build:

- before starting the trial equip the BK weapons and wait for full fury. Change back to IK weapon and start the trial with full fury (special thanks to Undertaking for the advice).

Additional information received from viewers:

- Due to a bug the tornadoes of the wastes set are boosted by the physical buff of convention of elements even if the
  skill uses a cold rune.
- Got feedback from a viewer on Twitch that he managed to get a level 54 key. The difference is that he got the ancient
  weapon of Immortal King.
