Gloves ?
why take theos or mage fist over tals.
i would drop tals belt for whitching hour and use tals gloves for gloves
I completely agree. In an ideal situation, you would be kiting and able to stay away most of the time. But if some people are having issues with staying alive and don't have Strongarm, I think Parthans could be beneficial. I may be wrong, though. I know that it's generally only good for melee builds. Regardless, Strongarm is one of the best options in my opinion.
The 50% attack speed to pets when using two Hydras is essentially doubling your damage, considering they're your main DPS output aside from the meteors. Magefists as an alternative for the Fire % damage.
Agreed, Parthans are for sure an option. I would say Ranslor's > Strongarms > Parthans.
What are you talking about... Fire rivers from mammoth stack with each other and the faster the hydra attacks, the more rivers are placed at once in the same place and the more damage your enemies take, how is that not increasing dps in any way, lol.
No Teleport = No Wizard, period.
1. So what extra passives would you recommend on the HF? I have a decent one with blur, but on GR 50+ it doesn't even matter wether you have blur or not. What do you think about cold blodded? I tend to spam blizzard for the cc a lot. I feel like any defensive passive is kind of wasted on high GR.
2. I do not have a SS and am running with an ancient devastator atm. Is this whole glove-discussion only viable once you aquire a decent ancient SS? I don't really see a point in taking TT in my situation. I'd much rather use Tal + HF. But the way I read your post is: Only switch to Tal AFTER you have an ancient SS, is that correct?
Hi @Locutos have to say few thing the Convention of Elements(If is on the meteor element)+Any Ring End Game(Solo[Unity], Team[SoJ])can reach more damage than the Focus/Restrain will do, Also Arcane its the highest damage of the Tal Rasha Set Bonus should we build all elements around it!?
I still don't have the focus ring, and i'm using convention, i know the elements rotation and try to be aware of it when i can, but (in my case) it's too distracting to make it really work, and waiting for 12 seconds just to release 1 big arcane meteor may be your downfall in a greater rift... and if you miss the buff or the skill, you're screwed =P
I dont feel such great distraction In Fact as Hurricane is the Arcane power is far easy hold it ON BOSS! since u dont need cast it to put all trash mobs on the same place, Get also Any 150-200% damage Buff on any meteor is better than 50% on all attacks IMO! also as i told when u go with Convention its with one high end ring Like unity or SoJ so u will get another's Greats bonus.
Its kind shame we dont have such great status board or damage sheet in game on D3 :/
Anybody interested in exactly how Taskers and attack speed are affecting mammoth Hydra should give this thread a read: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/15270729572?page=1
And also an APS Calculator on these forums: http://www.diablofans.com/forums/diablo-iii-class-forums/wizard-the-ancient-repositories/115586-mammoth-hydra-aps-calc
I got a pretty good ancient furnace with INT while playing on my zDPS support witch doctor. Could I use it with this build if I switch taskers with tal rasha gloves or use a rorg + convention/unity/soj or is furnace just not viable anymore?
You won't need it. Wizards don't have problems with elite packs/rift bosses because of Nilfur's Boast, which makes your meteors hit much harder on less amounts of targets. You're better off getting anything that helps with white clearing, which Serpent Sparker is the best at.

Also Tal rasha Glare give bonus damage to meteor...
i got all the gear and i cant do 44 because i got a fail rift full of reflect dmg -.-
Hopefully an easy question, but this is my first time to any wizard build. What gems do we put in the items like helm, armor, pants? Guessing int but didn't want to assume.
I'm using pain enhancer over toxin gem. Will I get better results with toxin?
Hi,
Thanks for your Guide.
This build is actually ? We can to play it in groupe GR50+ ?
We can to play with this build in solo GR50+ ? Or 50 is the max for this build ?
Thanks ^^
This looks like a boring build and I hate the way twister works, the tick dmg for twister sucks ass chunks.
Is there a reason why every cookie-cutter tal hydra build uses shock pulse over surge of power? I mean surge hits instantly, it generates AP, and it generates dynamo stacks faster if you run that.
