Build Guide

For non-boss floors:

Start with casting the Mystic Allies followed by one cast of Exploding Palm and Wave of Light, approach mobs and help your Allies do some damage with Fists of Thunder then repeat second cast of Exploding Palm and Wave of Light and deal damage. Once your Mystic Allies disappear, try to run from mobs and cast on them Wave Strike dealing damage. Once the Mystic Allies cooldown refresh, start doing the combo again until dead.

For boss floors:

Start with casting Mystic Allies and spamming the boss with both Exploding Palm, Wave of Light and apporach him to do melee damage with Fists of Thunder (try to make use of Mystic Allies distraction and get behind the boss so you're not his primary target) once Mystic Allies disappear, run away and deal damage to him with Wave Strike. Run in circles, avoiding boss attacks (try to learn his pattern) until cooldowns are refreshed. Make use of Mystic Allies until they drag his attention so you can get to him and attack up close.

I did with this technique the final 100 floor with help from 5187CR. As you can see, my set items suck (almost none buffs) so if you have any combo of 2 or more you're much more stronger (depending on what you're aiming for). For the amulet i used "The Stifled Wall".

I don't know if this guide was helpful, it certainly helped me instead of using Seven-sided strike build which is mostly AoE melee. I agree that CR is the most important factor for completing higher floors but, still better than Seven sided strike.
