Breakpoints: In a theoretical scenario with 2.5 APS you could in theory get 10 (2.5x4) hits out during CoE. However this would mean 0 time left (no travel time). With 2.6087 you'd have enough time for 10 CoE hits. But hitting the theoretical 10 or C CoE hits BP would grant +~5% more DPS on top. So there is a little more DPS hidden in APS than the majority assume.

Lightning vs. Cold: Both Lightning (Ricochet) and Cold (Overpenetration) are the Ying/Yang for Impale. Depending on your Quiver and Travelers Pledge RNG, you can adjust accordingly your rune and your Bracers Elemental.

Jewelry: RNG plays a large part in which ring you will cube. Optimally you will want to cube COE and wear the Elusive due to the range of affix's.

Socket Gems: Flawless Royal Emerald in weapon. Flawless Royal Diamonds in helm, chest, and pants.

Augmenting: Two options are DEX and VIT Depending on your comfort level. I've often always chose the raw DMG of DEX, but pushing in the 100s+ you may want to slap in a VIT if you find yourself dealing with occasional chunk management.

*** Mob TRIO Caution as Impale *** Three types of mobs should have extra caution applied during their supplied affix up time. Dune Dervish, while spinning will send back a projectile that will 2 if not 1 proc you while your dishing out the pain. Also Sand Dwellers and Stonesinger should have applied caution while their swirling cloud of sand is up. Simply not attacking while the affix is up is caution enough. These affixes do not affect Cluster arrow or Multishot.

Remember..

LeviathanD3 said it best.....

"Chain of Shadows: You may be tempted to go for the more offensive-oriented Witching Hour, but I cannot stress how useful the
ability to Vault for free is, both defensively for re-positioning and offensively for activation of your Strongarm Bracers de-buff."
