Error BLZPTS00002 "patch service issue"

  • I shall begin this thread by stating that I run Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on the Alienware M14X.

    I almost experienced my first heart attack when I received the email with the Diablo III Beta invitation. I downloaded the setup.exe file and received the following error:

    We could not connect to the battle.net patch service. Please check your internet connectoin and try again.

    Please click the ling below for more information or contact Customer Support if the problem persists.

    Error code: BLZPTS0002


    Has anyone troubleshooted/solved this issue?

    Are you sure peerblock is disabled? Try booting in selective startup once and seeing if it makes a difference.
