Character Screen Crash (Renamed)

  • Originally the title was about the HD 3000 graphics card, but that was not at fault. I did some searching and found the answer here if you're a Comcast user:

    Basically you have to change your DNS so that it is not automatically generated, but uses Googles DNS numbers which you can see in my post below.

    You may be using Optimus Tech with your notebook. If so, results are going to be varied right now as we're still looking into issues with them being detected and used properly. Stick with Dell's latest drivers though.

    I'd like to see your dxdiag info and D3debug.txt file also.

    You can find this information in the Direct X Diagnostic Tool:

    Click on Start
    Click on Run
    Type in: dxdiag (In Vista, type dxdiag in the search field)
    Hit Enter or OK

    Click on the Save All Information button at the bottom, and create a dxdiag text file, and copy and paste it all here.

    The D3debug.txt file is in your main Diablo III Beta game folder.
