Huge random lag spikes

  • Ever since yesterday I've had huge lag spikes throughout the game making it pretty much unplayable. It's only this game as every other game I have a regular and stable ping. Ran a rift using the WinMTR so here that:

    hopefully someone knows
  • Echo,

It seems like this might be some sort of shaping or third party. Try closing the background applications and check if that makes a difference. Have you tried a wired connection? Is QoS currently turned on for a router option? If you have trouble finding this option, please refer to your router manufacturer to help find this setting.

What modem/router model is currently set up?
  • Hey, Echo!

    <code>ARRIS TG1682G</code>

This router has a Puma 6 Chipset in it. This would be the cause of the poor WinMTR readout and your connection problems: https://us.battle.net/forums/en/wow/topic/20752441321

You would need to wait for your ISP to patch the routers firmware, or replace the router that doesn't have a Puma 6 Chipset. You can ask your ISP to replace it with one that doesn't have a Puma 6 chipset, but I have heard little luck with that. You may need to purchase a replacement.
