Lower Difficulty Option and Hardcore Mode

  • These two don't mix well right now. We shouldn't be able to "cheat" death by pausing the game and lowering the difficulty all the way to Normal when we find ourselves in a tight spot.

    In my opinion, Lower Difficulty should be disabled in HC mode or it shouldn't affect monsters and effects that are already spawned.
  • This subject was recently visited again by the developers, and they've decided to remove the Lower Difficulty button from Hardcore mode in the next beta patch. This shouldn't change the feature at all in Normal mode, though. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your feedback about this decision, so please be sure to let us know what you think. Thanks!
