"always on" = better security?

  • Blizzard's primary reason behind the "always connected" decision was that it would be easier to protect information and the game's integrity. Now they release news saying that they were hacked and user information is compromised? How can this continue? How can Blizzard stand by the "always on" decision, when rampant botting, AH hacking, and now account info (including banking information because of the RMAH) was most likely stolen?

D3 needs to be remade, and there needs to be a single-player version available. What's to stop this from happening again in the future?

I'm sick and tired of these apologies from the devs and Morhaime. The information Blizzard requires for regular play and RMAH use is far too important to always remain online.
