I felt bad for my second wizard (actually, more like my third; the real second one no longer exists), who was basically power leveled to 60 and then sat alone, totally neglected, in the shadow of my main wizard.
So I decided to gear her up with a twist.
All black attire. Mask. Dagger. High APS. 32%+ dodge rate.
I've always enjoyed Spectral Blades. And I've always had some odd attraction to dexterity and evasion, so I turned Linessa—my would-be red-headed stepchild of a wizard—into a genuine ninja. Literally, a ninja.
Spec Blades because a ninja needs blades.
Arcane Mines because a ninja needs some traps.
Time Warp because a ninja can obviously bend reality (I don't know, it felt right when I chose it).
Fracture because a ninja needs high mobility and ways to create illusions.
Force Weapon because a ninja hits hard.
Force Armor because a ninja is squishy.
Glass Cannon because a ninja is... squishy and hits hard.
Illusionist because a ninja is... an illusionist.
Cold Blooded because a ninja is... a cold killer.
Waiting for transmog in the future so I can throw on an int-crit Natalya's Sight for the additional dexterity and model it after the Sinister Mask (a.k.a. ninja mask).
So far this set is nowhere near perfect, though, as I basically threw everything together within minutes. However, I am quite content with how she holds up on MP7 (haven't tried MP8+ yet).
In closing, this setup is INCREDIBLY FUN. It's not efficient, but gameplay-wise I'm having an absolute blast. The best times are when you try setting up for an elite fight by laying a path of Arcane Mines, then using the terrain to your advantage by teleporting and juking big hits. Slicing and dicing with Spectral Blades the entire time, kiting and luring other mobs in for more chaos. Fun fun fun fun fun.
And such a nice backstab to all those who say "meh, D3 is so boring and you can't create any cool and unusual builds". Eat that! Nice, Jaetch. Even the dodge rate, everything fits. So much for "remove all non-main stats from class specific items" ;-)
Just one thing... what about if you leave your ninja stealth mode for one second and tell your Scoundrel what skills he should use? He feels so left behind. Any reason why you didn't assign the first skill? Poison darts would kinda fit the ninja theme, wouldn't they?
P.S.: Don't think we haven't noticed you need a break from your Archon wizard video guide... but we can't wait!

I gave him Hellrack to lock enemies in place to make kiting and using melee attacks easier (plus it does have a neat visual effect).
I don't actually know the proc rate for Hellrack's "rooting" ability. But I built my Scoundrel as if he were using Buriza to freeze enemies. So I left the first skill blank in order for him to stick with Multishot only. Each arrow is an individual attack, so—if it's lined up with all the rest of the skills in the game—each arrow has a chance to root an enemy to the ground. Had I given him poison darts or whatever, he'll split time with that skill and Multishot.
Some people even take out Vanish, but I'd rather he not die so Anatomy/Hysteria stays on. He does have over 80K HP, passive life regen and about 400 AR, so the only times he'd die is if he stands in 3x stacks of Desolate or gets charged by 3x Savage Beasts.
^ Hey, maybe once Blizzard makes self-found truly viable, all these builds that do require AHing right now will be much easier to put together (this funky ninja build, 0-dogs WD, SNS wizard, throw barb, etc.).
(Side note: best 1-hand LS weapon in the game has entered the US server. Seller wants 200 billion gold. A candidate offered 140 billion and got rejected. Waiting for itemization patch to make The Butcher's Sickle BiS LS weapon and watching that 200 billion gold vaporize.)

Anatomy (the 3% crit) doesn't fall off when follower dies. It's a static buff like the armor buff the chantress gives. That's one reason I use Anatomy, because my scoundrel dies all the time.
there's also a samurai build for the wizard and on the fem wiz, it's just wow. her pony tail helps with the costume
i have not bothered doing it and have only seen it from a bot. yes, a bot, who i've encountered in a pub game
all i saw and can remember from the set up was oni blade (2h katana) so you may have to experiment with the rest of the outfit (iirc they were all blue too)

Yeah, I considered the Oni Blade... that's why at the end of the video, I said "WTB one-handed katana."
i may try this later after work, make a tanky samurai wizard. understandably, mempo is the way to go for the helm but then again mempo just looks so awful on every other class beside barb (big build+big helm = good; big helm+small build = anorexic).
the thing i like about the oni blade on a wiz is that when she moves forwrd, the weapon is being dragged behind her, not like how she would with a skorn (by her chest) and that actually looks cool.
jae, you should have used butcher's sickle instead of dagger for your ninja. ya know, scorpion's 'get over here' thingy and how ninjas actually use such kind of chains etc etc

Off topic and speaking of one handed weapons, why da fuck don't we have anything COOL for a sword? The rune sword looks so damn plain. Wish we could get 1 handed katanas like you mention, or at least the crystal swords back.

I´ve always wanted to use that weapon for the drag effect. I´m waiting for itemization on this as well.
Cool idea making a ninja wizard You could have more ninja fun as a DH though Perhaps an idea for a future project? I mean, demon hunter has more ninja-like skills I always thought.
You should try it out. The drag effect has a hidden stun attached to it, so even though you can't drag say uber bosses, it still has a high chance of stunning =D frenzy + smite + sky splitter + butchers sickle = single target lockdown =D
A lot of people suggested DH and I totally agree with the skills selection... problem is that you can't dual-wield any 1h non-crossbow weapons. And what kind of ninja uses a shield? Because stats would be so crippled, it's just not worth it.

Two hundred billion?
It got bumped down to 188.8 billion BIN price. A barb might get it soon.
