Really just a different voice from the same crew that is the D3 team. What I found interesting was this:
...no-one believes the ramblings of the now-aged Deckard Cain and everything has turned into a somewhat baffling legend.
Scope for our hero then to do some exploring to see if those decrepit senile ramblings of Cain's are true? So Cain was really right after all...
The opportunity for humour as well to balance the dark story line - perhaps Cain drifting off on a tangent, his mind awash with dementia?
Additionally the article made me think about the potion/orb system:
[the] health globe system replaces piles of potions with glowing red orbs, dropped by slain enemies, that heal you and anyone near you when they're touched. This makes the game more mobile and in co-operative situations lets you save your partner from a quick death, rewarding those who keep close to each other.
Yes! The new health system makes it a little harder for us to tag along on the edges of battle in normal mode while our friendly uber helper from hell lays waste to all.
I wouldn't say *much* harder to help at this stage without more details. The effective radius will have to be wide to incorporate ranged party members similar to D2 amazons and necromancers.

So we've got over the problem of colour in D3. Great. Now let's argue about everything else not yet set in stone and help make this game simply great! Game on.
I'm wondering if the current art director (Brian Morrisroe) has quit after all that critics concering the art direction or they are just extending D3 team ? Or perhaps a new art director for D3 expansion is needed (they mentioned about exp. in some interview recently)?
Wow, thats a new job opening. May very well be you are on to something here. However I hope he was fired instead of quitting for the dumbass job hes done so far.
Blizzard Entertainment is currently looking for a talented, motivated, and experienced art director to lead the Diablo III art team. For this position, you must be highly organized with outstanding communication skills and proven experience in management.
Thats like the first line on their site lol. Key parts for this are "lead the diablo 3 art team". Fuck yes, in your face! Sorry that was kind of meanie of me, but yeah I cant help it.

If you get personally attacked by letters through the internet its a good thing to always have a box of tissues and a band-aid around.

You are as ignorant as you are a selfish arsehole.... one day you'll grow up I guess. Is there a way to ignore users on this forum? like their posts just don't show up to you?
However if they do completely change the direction of the art, the game will probably be delayed by another year.... Not to mention theres the possibility it gets worse.

Well, since they made us wait for 7 years, I'd say I can live through another year of delay. Because I don't really give a shit when it's released, I just want it released. Some time.
It is possible that they're changing the art director. But as Blizzard has already stated, they will not change the art direction, so I don't understand why they would change the art director after stating they have decided to keep the art style.
Could there be more than one art director who mentors different groups of artists? Say one art director is in charge of character design whiles another is in charge of lighting and other environmental effects.
Whatever Blizzard is doing, I'm sure its good. But I'm not willing to wait another year for D3 to come out though :(.

What part of , LEADING the DIABLO 3 ART TEAM, do you not get? Did they say part of it, Did they say for lightning or not? You have to specifically say what the job is going to be before you can advertise it in the real world honey, sorry.

Are you sure the art direction is a new job? I swear they have all been there for ages.
Yeah... thats what I was thinking, and from reading the job description... it doesn't sound like someone that makes all the decisions for the games art direction, so much as manages the team, enforcing someone else's "direction"

Well thanks for the hostility. I am no expert in these matters, but I'm sure you are.
I thought companies like to host ads that recruit people, and in these ads they give you a basic requirement of what you need and what your job is. The job details are further explained in the interview, to see that you meet the requirements first.
I'm not gonna go on to the irony of the "real world" that you said. But I don't think business recruitment ads need to be that specific about the job. Otherwise, the whole world would know what your company is up to, even your competitions, and in some cases media.
I never seen a job ad that says something like "Looking for talented young man who can help sculpt out a new statue of liberty". The ones I see are mostly something like "Looking for talented young man who has experience in sculpting:.
Jay Wilson is still the lead designer and he has stated that the current art direction is working and the team is happy with it. All you can do is speculate as to what happened to the old art director. It could be literally anything including him pinching an intern's ass and getting canned.

Yeah I somehow doubt this is anything to get excited about, even if it would be nice to see Diablo change a little into something I can recognize as being, well, Diablo.
You guys have to wonder though seriously... Why are they targeting Kids with the colors and affects and style when the diablo franchise has always been about M rated style.
Honestly and seriously, why target kids in an M rated franchise with their current art features, the brightness and funky feel of it. That's all I'm saying... Get your panties out of a knob folks, this franchise really does need some new art direction... even if it is only a subtle one. Sometimes when you work on a game for years and years all you start to see is that game, AKA old art director being lead designer from WoW, but I guess hes gone now so whatever.

Another kid who thinks his opinion is the only one. So tiring
Indeed. You must be tired with the whole world then, because that's what people naturally do. That's what you do, that's what I do, that's what he does, that's what Jay Wilson does, that's what George Bush, Shaka Zulu or the average joe does.
At least that is the impression the world has left me with.

Yeah but those have actually been up for awhile. Maybe they all quit or got fired and thats why there is no new info being released by blizzard lol.
But those jobs were minor compared to the Art director position, that only opened up like a cuple days ago.
Its some seriously huge shit goin down.

You mods or whatever you big dogs can do, someone should put this on the home page for news. This is pretty big stuff.
