Boss is out of the office and there's some down time here, so let's play a game. After all, I'm seeing far too many angry or dissatisfied topics lately here. Scenario is:

"You know you're too involved with Diablo when..."

Anything goes. Real life. In-game. Based on Diablo I, II or III. You can be witty, lame, angry, cynical, whatever you want (to an extent). Take the opportunity to praise the game's plusses and rant about its downsides.

So here goes, first example:

You know you're too involved with Diablo when you mentally calculate how much a real-life product or service is worth in terms of in-game gold.

I'm a freelancer. I used to determine my prices according to others in my trade. Now I determine my prices according to the money I could make in Diablo.

I do that ALL the time, once calculated that 1 m gold in you bag is on average 1.5 swedish "kronor", and using that formula all the time xD

You know you're too involved with Diablo when you bargain with you friends using in-game gold.
( like i want a coca-cola and i tell my friend that i´ll give him like 8 m if he buys it )

You know you're too involved with Diablo when your 3 year old knows what the game is called and stands behind your chair and encourages you to "kill the bad guys" and knows to go "ooooo" when a legendary drops.

:)  I'm having a blast playing with my 5 year old tho.  I died about halfway through the butcher one time and she had to finish him by herself and she was so scared about the "big bad guy"... so priceless, and she beat him!!

I don't have a kid, but your scenario reminds me of my childhood when I watched my dad play the original Doom series. Blood and guts galore (mother dearest was not so fond of dad's method of bonding).

@Jaetch, yes, I distinctly remembering getting to the last level of Contra with my dad for the first time and being forcefully ejected from my parent's room because my mom wanted to go to bed :(

You know you're too involved in Diablo when you get annoyed that someone's 5 year old kid can play the game and beat bosses :Thumbs Up:

You know you are too involved in Diablo... that you yell "Headrig, aid me!" When you need some help from your brother to do the dishes.

Filled my car with gas on my way home from work. I realized every gallon of gas is the equivalent of about 16 million gold. Ugh. Every 1.5 gallons and that's a Radiant Star Amethyst right there. My car burns up so many Radiant Star gems each day.

When you know the current item prices on AH and people use you as a human Price checker...
What are you trying to tell me... that I can absorb damage with Serenity?
NO, I'm trying to tell you that when you are ready... You won't have to.

I know I'm too involved in Diablo when I know more about my auction house history and balance than my checking account history and balance.  If only there were something in real life that gave this sort of grind satisfaction and progress!

Oh, gosh, I don't think I can beat that. I'm super in-touch with my bank and credit card statements, haha.
