Diablo 3 Announced for PlayStation
Chris Metzen just announced that Diablo 3 will be coming to both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. The announcement came on PlayStation 4's official reveal today. Not much has been shared yet, but stay tuned!

Diablo III for the PS3™/PS4™ will be based on the core PC game and feature all the latest updates, including Paragon levels, the Infernal Machine event, Monster Power, Brawling, and more. This version is also being tailored with customized controls, a new user interface, and a dynamic camera perspective to provide an awesome Diablo III experience for PlayStation gamers.

Players will be able to wage war against the Burning Hells on their own in single-player games as well as team up and destroy countless demons with their fellow Nephalem in multiplayer games. For multiplayer, players will have the option to choose between four-player online (complete with matchmaking) and four-player local co-op modes for their couch-based warfare.

The PS3 version of Diablo III will make its public debut at PAX East in the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center from March 22–24, and attendees of the convention will be some of the first to defend the world of Sanctuary via handheld controllers.
We call upon all heroes to join us at the official Blizzard booth, where you can enjoy some fast-paced hack-and-slash, participate in fun contests and giveaways, and learn more about the game. (Community managers will also be on-site, and they look forward to answering your questions and slaying some of Diablo's many malevolent minions with you.)

guess the console boys will go crazy about this one, at least its fun in a casual way like most console players favour.

in the interviews they said "Or a game in the diablo world" basically. was really hoping they would go for that angle and not a right up port of d3

I wonder how they're going to handle the offline part, especially for PS3. Will PS people get any AH at all? Even a GAH?

Nice, on console you can play offline, for hc it's better. And if you don't like a patch, you don't apply it \o/

As TB mentioned, if any version of Diablo has offline singleplayer, then it's final proof their "it's not DRM, it's a feature" nonsense is the bullcrap we always knew it to be.

This is likely why the game got changed so drastically since 2008. They decided they wanted to enter the console market and that requires dumbing down the controls as well as no skill trees since console gamers can't handle making mistakes.

Oh yea, 2009 was when Activision bought them out

Kinda expected Blizzard will show up when Sony started the show. Poor Metzen's getting old.

They said it's coming to PS4, no word about a PS3 version. And no, no word about Auction Houses either. I guess if they allow offline play on consoles they'll have to ease up on PC too, so... Well, I hope for that, but no, that's not real, not happening.

PS4 its all only direct download for new titles.. That's from what i have read from all around the net. and it makes sence for them to do this to kill pirate games,

For a second I was hoping for a Titan or SC:Ghost announcement, but suddenly Diablo 3. Meh.

On the other hand I feel that it's great news for Diablo franchise. Why? Well - there are two options:

a) If they just port the PC version, the console Diablo 3 will be a major flop when it comes to sales. Maybe then Blizzard will finally recognize that they need to step their game up and fix the damn game mostly in terms of customization, replayablity and itemization.

If they're planning on doing a major overhaul of Diablo 3 for the consoles, maybe we'll finally get some of the most burning D3 issues fixed.

To be honest, I think that they will just port the PC version and maybe change it a bit. The game will be a major flop. End of story.

Blizzard will be going on the path of bioware at a much greater pace now. I can smell it already. The smell of the most rabbid gaming community ever created.
