I know I'll be spending the majority of my time crafting the new amulets and gloves for sure.
...Oh, and unsocketing Marquise gems during potential gear switches. If it goes far enough, I may have to craft extra Marquise. More gold sinks!

He's asking "what would be D2's SoJ equivalent in D3". As in, what item would become currency.

Ah, I see.
...In that case, I'd have to say Echoing Fury, since 4/5 classes make heavy use of it for the fat DPS numbers. If not EF, then Inna's Temperance with whichever primary stat plus vitality since all the classes want the only pants in the game with IAS and CC.
And if PvP becomes legit... who knows, we might see D3's SoJ be the diamond.

Rollbacks is the only widely known way to dupe.
To say that there could be no other possbile way, is not only naiv, but foolish.
We have already seen a dupe related to a programming error, with the save/checkpoint system in the game, which is fixed now.
to further my point, one of the most damaging dupes in diablo 2, was a 0day exploit, but was kept secret for almost 3 years, and is to this day not fixed.

But any badly rolled legendary can be turned into brimstone.
I'd wager on brimstones and gems depending on where crafting is going.
Or maybe trifecta to quint amulets with less than 6 affixes - because they still are powerfull and valuable, but you can always hope to have a better one BOA with crafting now

He's right, Legendaries wouldn't work. Some EFs are garbage. Gems and crafting materials are consistently the same no matter what.

With gold you can get any item you want at the AH, instantly. With any other currency, you would have to spend hours or days to get the item you want.

Well....I have to say that trading the way it was done in D2 is still possible, given you seek resources for trades through friends and various websites etc....HOWEVER....
If we went back to the system we had in D2, and there was no longer an AH, we would be forced to do trades by exposing ourselves to thousands of scammers and stupid little kids that waste your time, ALL DAY LONG, while you seek a specific item.
Trading was often an ordeal, meaning, to make a specific trade one would have to spend their time seeing through this arduous process and not actually playing the game.
In closing; The AH allows you to procure items with wealth/commodities you garnered while playing the game while not sinking all your time in the trade process; You have more time to play the game due to the AH.

No, nobody was forcing you to trade. Why do you HAVE to trade? Your last sentence is a complete fallacy, sorry.
The whole point is that D2 didn't expect you to trade, while D3 does. It makes a world of difference.
I hate to beat the dead horse, but people keep bringing up the subject (D2 vs. D3).

If you don't have to trade then why does the AH bother you? I want to trade because I want to compete in PvP. However, I refuse to use the RMAH to reach this goal. That is a cheap short-cut for shit players IMO.
I do find it interesting to hear all the different play-styles and opposing opinions of this matter. I also appreciate people whom play untwinked and with only items that they find themselves, so don't take me the wrong way.

No, it's not. When I said "You have more time to play due to the AH", obviously I'm referring to people whom are heavily involved in trading. We have a new vehicle for trades that cuts out the scammers and idiots that just waste your time, the people whom bring the wrong shit to your trade game etc.

I really want you to explain this?
Why? Why does D3 expect you to trade while D2 did not? I see no difference at all, absolutely nothing. If you want to compete (PvP), you must trade OR accept that it'll take you 10 times longer (at least) to reach your goal by not trading. This dynamic is the same between D2 and D3.

Please?
@OP
That's a good question. I'd tend to believe it'd be some crafting material... perhaps un-IDd rings/ammies.
