Drugs, drugs, and drugs!!! - What is your opinion?

I wouldn't legalize cocaine, meths, crack, bath salts, PCP... and other reckless, violent behavior inducing drugs. They also ruin health and mind pretty quick.
Nor opium/heroin/morphine wich are way too addictive.
Then there are drugs with wich you can date-rape people - not cool.
But if it's not too addictive, if it doesn't destroy your brain or your body, if it doesn't make you go suicidal/batshit insane, if you can't slip it in someone's drink when he/she said no... then I can't see the problem.

Meanwhile many of our presidents have admitted to using illegal substance, yet most law enforcement, fire fighters, and other government workers have to take a polygraph. One of the questions asks about using illegal drugs, and if you answer yes, they won't even consider you.
All I can recommend is to get informed and get involved if you can. And I wouldn't recommend getting informed by way of mainstream media. They are part of the problem. After all, they are corporations.
Sorry this turned into a political rant, but I hope it inspires some to learn more about what's going on in this country. This isn't a pretty road we are on right now.

Dude, Dieting and Exercise can be addictive. Pain can become addictive. Homework can be addictive. ANYTHING can be addictive. If those things can become addictive, then there's no such thing as low addiction or high addiction. It's all about what makes you feel so damn fine.
I personally know somebody that has had their life ruined and is in rehab for an addiction to cleaning shoes. I'm actually dropping by tomorrow to see how they're doing. And, I'm wearing my "Clean" (I get them dry cleaned every time I wear them.) shoes and bringing my fishing shoes (They are the dirtiest shoes I own.) Reason being the fact that his therapist has asked me to bring them in as a test to see how far they've re-cooperated.
A little OCD on trying to keep your own shoes spotless is ok to an extent. An addiction to cleaning your own shoes, along with every shoe in sight, to spotless condition is off the (censor)ing wall. It's also the only way to make him feel really good, cleaning shoes is better than sex for him. It's an addiction because he can walk into a shoe store and act completely normal, until he sees a fellow customer with dirty shoes... Then he has to clean them in order to feel good and get an erection while doing so.

These feelings aren't fake either. Would you say that a sugar rush is fake energy? No it's real. Everything is real. Magic mushrooms contributed to the promotion of early religion to all of you religious folks. The feelings you get from drugs are unmatched, and should not be seen as a downside. The reason they are addicting because THEY GIVE YOU GOOD FEELINGS. That is why people become addicted to things. People even get addicted to bad feelings! You are on a game forum because you probably dumped more time, feelings, and energy into a video game than a lot of stoners have put into their weed. It is not a sin to enjoy drugs.

I think the heavy hitters should stay illegal, the ones that can fuck up your life and make you lose all you have. It's never fun to see someone turn into a withering shell of who they once were, begging for more destruction. And the less bums the better.

Define a heavy hitter. Where do you draw the line?

Its a nice beverage and i like the high...i dont really drink Alcohol, or take any other drugs.

Everything beyond Marihuana... i dont think it should be Legal to the Public.
Mainly because it destroys your Health, your Brain etc...
Perhaps only under heavy medical supervision.

Marijuana is fine, doesn't really do anything anyway, cocaine is a useful drug but in a very controlled manner, say as a replacement for vike's or Oxycontin. It really depends on the drug. One thing is for sure though these drugs need to be well tested and researched before anything gets done about legalization. We can talk all we want about how this or that should be legal but without the right medical research we can't know for sure exactly how much is okay, how much exactly is bad, which are the ones that have the pros outweigh the cons. Stuff like this needs to be answered.
If a drug can make you kill someone or do something reckless, it shouldn't be legal. PERIOD. The only reason Alcohol is excluded is because you have to be stupid to get that drunk. It's not as easy as one would think. I've been drunk plenty of times but I never ever get to that point and I never will because I don't need to. Understanding the effects of a drug goes a long way.

So I can easily say that you must be that stupid to get THAT high. It's never an easy topic because there isn't a clear line when you try to exclude things. Honestly, I wish that most people would never do heroin or PCP, because those are the drugs that tend to fuck people up. However, it's extremely hard to give it a reason to be illegal when you are legalizing everything else.
Also I've been that drunk. It's very easy to get very drunk especially when you're in a college party environment where everyone is just raging their tits off. No one wants to get belligerently drunk, but when you're in a good mood, you're talking to girls, Lil Jon is playing, you're heart is beating fast, and you just don't give a fuck, it's so easy to cross the line. Again, this is no reason to make it illegal, the same goes with other drugs. You have to put into people that maybe taking twenty lines of coke isn't the best idea. Will there be accidents? Of course. EDUCATE PEOPLE! Don't tell them "don't do drugs". Tell them safe ways to use them, overdose levels, addiction, the positive and negative effects, etc. This would save soooo many people from throwing their lives away and killing themselves.

No.
Addiction isn't about what makes you feel "so damn fine". Addiction is about what you need in order not to feel like shit.
it's true you can be a workout addict or a chocolate addict or hack n slash addict or anything, but it takes way way much more time. And when I say an addict, it's not just liking it very much.
But drugs, there are some with wich you can be nearly insta-hooked up and feel like shit just two days after if you don't take another dose.

Can the people who have said "No" please speak up? I know it is a poll but it is kind of strange that all of you have voted and simply left.

I didn't vote yet, but I'd probably rather vote no (or maybe the third option, because you need to differentiate). I had too many IRL discussion with people to know from experience it's a waste of time. You see statistics like the one Xenocow posted thrown at you (I run on coffee, you can do the same thing for coffee, there are a million statistics to proof that coffee is lethal and another million to proof that it'll make you immortal).
Didn't read some of the walls of text in this post and won't read them now because it's too late over here, but I think someone touched upon the right point: it's not about legalizing drugs or prohibiting their use. It's all about educating people. (And whenever I talk to some drug users, I realize that's still a looooooong way to go.)

So change the drug education. I think I've said this at least 20 times on each of my posts. Change it so it's not "drugs are bad" based. Show the pros and cons of each drugs and the effects they have on the human body. Also teach them street terms and other things that can be useful. After review, people will realize that psychedelics aren't that bad for you and it's the heroin and PCPs you want to stay the hell away from.
Oh, and has anyone heard of the new Russian drug called Krokodil? Holy mother of fuck! Scary shit.

1. It is immaterial to me whether or not someone gets high so long as they aren't doing things which harm others. If they are harming others, then prosecute those specific behaviors, such as driving under the influence, theft or assault.
2. The war on drugs has been an abject failure in America and it's a giant waste of time and money. Despite decades since it started, drugs are still everywhere.
3. The current president of the US did a lot of drugs, by his own admission and there are people serving prison sentences right now for doing less than he did. How many people's lives have these laws ruined? If Obama had gone to prison for possession of cocaine, he certainly wouldn't be president right now.
4. Drug laws create black markets, which in term funnels money to bad people and avoids taxes. By legalizing drugs, we can reduce funds going to terrorists and gangs, clear drug users out of our prisons to make way for people who actually need to be there, increase the tax base and enforce safety standards. Additionally, we can bring addicts out of the shadows, allowing them to seek help without fear of prosecution if they relapse.
5. Decriminalizing drugs would lead to fewer safety concerns. For example, the spread of HIV due to shared needles would lessen, and people wouldn't need to keep inventing more and more dangerous drugs (ie bath salts) to try to stay legal. Not to mention you're way less likely to get caught in a violent situation if you are buying drugs at a convenience store instead of from someone standing on a street corner.
6. At the very least, we should decriminalize pot, and probably acid, mushrooms, hash and some prescription narcotics as well. The argument against pot is that it has a tendency to make people lazy and unmotivated. The argument against crack is that it has a tendency to kill people or make them psychotic and potentially violent. In my opinion, pot is only a gateway drug because we act as though all drugs are equally dangerous, both in the law and in the way we teach kids about drugs.
