Two simple questions.

Does reflected damage proc life steal?

Does the explosion from Explosive Palm proc life steal?

Do you mean the dmg that mobs deal to you via reflect? That dmg doesn't come from you anymore so you don't lifesteal from it.

If you are the one reflecting dmg from enemies, then lifesteal works.

I can only answer the first one: if the damage being reflected comes from the source with life steal, then the source will be healed.

E.g. an elite pack with Reflect Damage + Vampiric. A portion of the damage they reflect back to you will heal them.

For Exploding Palm, I will assume it does recover you if you run life steal. It'll be easy to test. Just run no LoH, no passive life regeneration, no life after kill, and use strictly Exploding Palm with life steal and see if you heal from the Bleed effects and aftereffects of the explosion.

All I know is reflect damage actually reflects a % of your max hp. So vs 1 mob with reflect its quite easy to out heal with life steal, vs a horde with reflect then it's too much max hp % being conflicted if your hitting them all.

Life steal is based on the damage you do, regardless if the mobs are reflecting or not.

Pretty sure all damage including exploding palm will contribute to your life steal.

hey mate, if this is a monk specific question, then mantra of retribution does not proc life steal. Exploding palm's first hit has the ability to proc ls but the consecutive damage does not proc any life steal. It's a shame really, but we take what we get. the best way to get ls out of monk's moves is to use sw cyclone, sss and even wave of light. Hope this helped.

dmg your reflect via thorn affix on your gear gets accounted in your total dmg and provides LS healing.
dmg done to you via result as reflect from reflect dmg elite affix doesnt proc LS.

the explosion from EP does proc lifesteal.

tho against reflect dmg mobs EP can instagib you easy, because the lifesteal healing has a delay, RD doesnt. so you get gibbed, before the healing kicks on.

I figured the reflect worked that way. Sucks to be MoR. The most worthless Mantra ever...skill sever.

As for Exploding Palm, I just tested that each tick from EP's bleed procs Life Steal. The explosion is the problem for me because I don't seem to see it magically "potion" me up when it happens in the middle of an Act 3 mob (I don't have the dmg/heal numbers on because I like to play old school style). If the explosion does proc...that'd be awesome especially with the upcoming buff of 50% life.

Thanks to all who replied!

I actually died once by this. It was a champ and I just focused fired on it. I didn't really pay attention if it had RD because RD barely damages me. When it blew up though, it literally cleared the entire screen, minions and me included. Fun times.
