"aah... fresh meat" from the butcher
This.
I remember this very vividly. I was 6 years old and was unfortunate enough to have attended English classes at kindergarten.
I panicked, got killed and deleted Diablo from my PC.
I didn't complete the first Diablo until I was 12 years old because of that trauma.
So, Diablo 1 left an imprint in us, the gamers that now are 20+ years old.
Will Diablo 3 leave a similar imprint in the youngest generation of gamers now? I seriously doubt it.

omg, thank you so much. i couldnt have said it better myself.
the d3, or lets call it "blizzard"-community is such a terrible one. i see people on forums complaining about what a shitty game they got served, looking at their profiles having 100s of hours of playtime.
but saying one good word about d3, your the fanboy immediately.
how about appreciating the developers work and say "okay, you've entertained me for 200 hours, but now it gets old for me, i'll switch to another game, pay 60bucks and get fun for an average of 15hours"...
It is true that people hardly show any gratitude at all these days, most of them take everything for granted.
But in my opinion the biggest outrage at Diablo 3 came from the fact that Blizzard was the company behind this game.
Blizzard has spoiled it's fans over the years, taking time to perfect their games before release - but not this time.
When people were waiting for Diablo 3, they were waiting for something totally different than they got.
And they got it from a company that always was in gamers' eyes perfect.
For the sake of Blizzard's future, I hope that they will remove the stain on their reputation that Diablo III is (despite being a very good game in it's own right) when they release the expansion pack.
