Hi. I'm new to playing my monk again after a long break of almost exclusively playing my witch doctor. I picked up some gear and am testing the difference between using sledge fist and a shield (2.26 aps) vs balanced basilard and shield (2.61aps). The basilard does way more damage, but maybe sledge fist is better for ubers? I've also seen people use azurewrath for ubers, which ones is this useful for?
Currently sitting at 7152.08 unbuffed DPS with 654 all resist and 4856 armor with 1675dex 1091vit 49230 health.
My snapshot set has 11.5% cc 495% crit damage 2547 dex +20% Sweeping Wind damage +25% damage vs elites
Switch set has 2.61aps 56.5% crit chance 50% crit dmg
Passives are fleet footed, resolve, one with everything
Any advice would be appreciated.

Pretty solid setup. My snap shot set is similar to yours: ~560% CD / 24% SW / 24% elite SoJ w 5% cold / 35% AS. The attack speed help buff Blinding Flash which of course is part of the SW snapshot.
For ZK/SB I use the azurewrath, for the other a 1.8 white dagger and shield. I cant recall my CC or AS but they are similar to yours.

I expect the Sledge Fist to be rather popular in PvP due to the stun. I can see the combo with EF's fear being a shutdown scenario. I'm just curious if control impairments will receive a nerf in PvP?

I bet they will, but even with a nerf, the sledge fist will likely be a force to be reckoned with. They can't nerf it too much or they nullify legitimate abilities like ice nova.

I've tried both azurewrath and sledge fist vs zoltun kulle and siegebreaker but as they're incredibly easy on mp10 with either one I think sledge fist does more for the party. Keeping Kulle stunned and killing him in a couple of minutes by myself with 3 players in an mp10 game is more useful than freezing him a lot of the time, although I would kill him a bit faster with azurewrath. For the siegebreaker I switch back to my dagger after Kulle dies.

1.58 miil? good lord man, you dont need a shield. lol.
i use a shield for the 10%crit and extra resists and dex. gives me 54.5% cc which is great. otherwise i roll with azurewrath and sledgefist in a dw setup. gives me 2.7 and 2.29 aps. fun as hell and baffles people playing with me.
