Hey, so I played Diablo III for a few weeks after release, but quit along with my friends because of boredom, no particular reason for it though, we just moved on.

So now I'm back again, and have no idea what everyone is talking about. I never understood what the purpose was with D3, people keep talking about 100 million budgets, how is one supposed to gather that much gold? Do you just play through the campaign on normal mode and then move on to higher difficulties? Don't you lose your character if you die on higher difficulties?

I played a Barbarian, never got far with him though, so basically I'm wondering if anyone could re-cap what's changed with the game and give me a sense of direction, or perhaps point me towards some comprehensive guide on what to do in D3, how to do it, what gear to strive for, what stats are best and all of that stuff.

Thanks in advance.

Many people just rush through the game, maybe finishing the campaign once by exploring everything and reading everything, but by now you can get some +experience gear, a well-equipped level 60 friend and you'll get from 0 to 60 in about 2 hours. Then you use one of the guides to create a viable character that can farm any area on Inferno (highest difficulty) quite well, it will cost you about 1 million, depending on class (and 1 million is an amount of money people will be willing to give you for free, if you have made good friends ingame).

You don't need 100 million for anything. But since you ask, "how do you get 100 million" - you just kill lots of monsters, max your DPS, magic find, and try to kill as many as possible and eventually you'll find a legendary item that sells for multiple millions. Some items sell for as much as billions of gold. Oh, and some people (not many though) use the shortcut and buy gold for real money.

About the guides... you should probably look at the class forums of your choice. For barbarian, this guide was kind of helpful when I started: http://www.diablofan...rno-difficulty/

And about the question "what changed" - almost all changes only pertain to level 60 characters in "endgame" (Inferno difficulty), and it doesn't sound like you're there yet, so you won't really notice any changes (my guess).

Questions about wizard gear? Helpful tools? Common wizard builds? What gear for my follower? And what is a black weapon?

Answers to these and many other questions in the Wizard Gear Guide.
