My current character on US servers: /d3/en/profile/Mike-11493/hero/13084821 (sorry, haven't made 10 posts yet)

I have ~15 million as my budget right now.  Any suggestions on the best things to upgrade right now?

Also, I can manage to do MP4 right now without too much trouble, but I still die to certain champ affix combos (Reflect Damage + Extra Health, etc.) a few times before taking them down.  I'm currently playing on a Macbook without a mouse, so that makes things harder.  Is my build acceptable for an archon build?

I'd drop the MH in favor of a black sword, wand, or dagger with a socket or comparable crit damage with Life Steal. You should be able to get one around 1-1.5k dps or so for under 10 mil. I'd also drop the OH for a Triumvirate. I recommend using a DPS calculator or spreadsheet to convince yourself the change results in a decent dps increase.


EDIT: for build, i'd drop force weapon for blood magic to make RD mobs less annoying. I also prefer teleport rune over improved, and Storm Armor - Scramble over energy armor. I also run lower MP because it's more efficient that way, so it might be worth trying, otherwise EA is fine. I have 210k dps buffed in Archon spec and I have 0 problems with any affixes on MP1-2 as long as I don't stand in molten explosions or arcane sentries.

Thanks.  I'll try and look for the weapon+Tri when I get a chance.  My other gear is okay relative to a 15M budget for now?

Do you notice any survivability issues without Force Armor?

The rest of your gear looks fine, though you might be able to find a higher DPS Tal amulet (average damage and/or socket) for cheap but I'd focus mostly on weapon and OH for now.

I don't have any problems on MP1-2 without force armor, but I have 3600 armor and 650 resists without Archon form, or 268k EHP in Archon form. Most of the elites die in just a few seconds so they don't hurt too much, even the RD mobs. Teleport rune on Archon also helps survivability against annoying elites like demon tremors and phase beasts, plus I run with Illusionist passive for increased survival.

Thanks for the info.  I'm trying to open your EHP and DPS spreadsheet, but I'm getting the error message "Sorry, we are having a temporary problem generating a view of the document.  Please try again later."  Is it just me?

I was just able to open it following the link in the thread, so I think the issue is on your side. If you still can't open it let me know and I can probably add another link to see if that fixes it.

With my current gear and build (208k buffed DPS archon), what MP and quest/act should I be running over and over to farm paragon levels?

Thanks again for gear advice.  I spent ~3M to increase my DPS by 35k, as spending 15M only would have increased my DPS slightly more (additional ~6k to 214k) with what was available on the auction house.  I suppose any other significant upgrades would be way over my budget?

Act 3 has highest mob density and therefore is most suitable for Archon. Most people run Core, Tower of the Damned 1, Crater 2, Rakkis, Fields of Slaughter, Keep level 2, level 3,and optional Stonefort for key. MP2 is probably suitable for > 200k dps. Note: play whatever you like most and you feel comfortable with, it's a long grind, don't stress yourself out about a few percent extra efficiency - make sure you enjoy the game and have fun.
