B ). The world isn't going to end 12/21/12 for the following reasons: 1)The original calender that started all of this was incomplete. If memory serves, that was around the time that the Spanish invaded. 2)The Mayans didn't account for leap year, which means if THE END were to happen, it would have happened several years ago. 3)It's another Y2K. People are going to blow it out of proportion as an excuse to act like bigger idiots than they already are for believing such nonsense.

My family and I are staying in that day to watch end of the world themed movies.

They don't have to account for leap year. The winter solstice is a yearly occurrence and is independent of leap days.

look all jokes aside really i pray for these people that have had it in their minds for over 5 years now that at a set time they are going to die... you could only imagine what decisions they have made within this time and what they are going through day in and day out knowing they will die soon... its really not funny at all and when its all over and done with i really hope these people seek some type of theropy and get on some medication if they need to and just move on. you can only imagine what has been going through their minds for the past FIVE PLUS YEARS im pretty sure by now most of them are in a state of psychosis. so all i want to say is dont make fun of these people because some of them may decide to take their own lives and it really will be the end of the world for them. be gentle with these people and pray for them or if you dont believe in god then do something for them. think about where your state of sanity would be if you would have thought for years that you were going to die on a set date. its just like dieing of cancer the entire time you are suffering.

No one truly knows, but there are very many possibilities and theories out there. Is it an end to us being alone and coming into contact with intelligent life? Possibly. Is the world really going to be destroyed? Maybe. Or is it that the Human Race is wiped out via disease, war, or our own general stupidity as a species? Could be.
