SO when you Right Click a rare item on your toon or in your stash it gives u the option to search for similar items.  With rare items it fills in all stats, but when I do the same with a legendary it only searches the legendary with no stats.  Is there are reason for this?  Or am I the only one this is happening to?

No, it's happening to everyone. It's probably not implemented yet - some of the stats on legendaries are fixed and it would be pretty stupid to search for those, while 1-3 affixes are random rolls. I seriously hope they'll implement this in the future, it takes a lot of time to actually look up which stats are fixed and what the random rolls on your legendary drop are...

Questions about wizard gear? Helpful tools? Common wizard builds? What gear for my follower? And what is a black weapon?

I think the reason it doesn't search stats on legendaries is because legendaries often have stats that that slot normally can't roll. Ice Climber boots with a socket, Lacuni Prowler bracers with movement speed, attack speed shows up on several that can't roll it normally (ie every single armor item except gloves that has it).

The search listing stat filters won't even let you search (curse you, I am trying to find a 9% IAS Tal Rasha chest, you wretched AH!) for these "wrong-slot" stats, so for ease of headaches until they figure out how to let it make an exception for legendaries, it is simply disabled.

It's pretty obvious there was minimal testing done on the ah functionality.  As someone that has done software before, I don't think this ui would even come close to passing my personal quality control.  There's so many things that act absolutely contrary to common sense and usability.

Instead of trying to be clever and limit your affix choices by what that slot rolls, if they instead allowed you to search all affixes on all slots it would improve the search dramatically.

Hm. I agree that this is really strange and annoying (e.g., search for Stormshield with 34% block or a Witching Hour with > 45% crit damage). My guess is that this is "by design", because it's so easy to change this and they recently revamped the affix list (got rid of categories).

It's in general quite strange that Blizzard is the one company in the gaming industry that cares most about usability (they are the only big developer who hires HCI experts specifically), but at the same time some of their recent interfaces violate every simple usability principle. The D3 interface is not the worst of them - don't get me started with SC2 map search.

Lol... it's amazing because the WC3 basic "most recent games on top" format was awful and basically first year programming material... and they managed to take a step back with SC2's popularity based system.

The garbage AH UI is most certainly by design, simply poor design.  For several months we couldn't even search by +damage on offhands, which only happens to be one of the basic core stats on an offhand piece for wizards and WDs.  It would be like not having the ability to sort by DPS on weapons or even see the DPS without mousing over them.  It still amazes me how hard it is to find items with skill specific bonuses.  Minus fury on Weapon Throw?  Either sort by the skill and click through pages of belts to find an amulet or ring or two, or look for specific uniques and click through pages of them mousing over each looking for the specific skill.  Ugh.

This is somewhat unrelated to your issue but I was just bidding on an IK helm yesterday and it had about 1d9h left.. but after work today I go to check how the bidding war is progressing and the bid was at 0. Is there some sort of exploit that enables the seller to cancel the auction if he feels it's too low? This is the first occurence for me.
