I feel like I'm against a wall - can someone offer advice on which pieces of gear to upgrade next?

I would like to get to about 120k dps as cost effectively as possible.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
My battle tag is Ian-1879 and my Monk's name is Josa.

Thank you!

The most obvious change is to get sockets in both of your weapons, which will add 200% crit damage.
Everything else is pretty good (except for that belt....)
Also, your gems are pretty bad. Those can be upgraded, but it likely is more cost effective to focus on new weapons.

Yep -- probably the best name there is. lol
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not entirely sure how D3 mechanics work, so a bit of explanation would be beneficial.
If I were to find something in the 900 DPS range with Life Steal (for one weapon,) crit damage and a socket, would two of those net me more DPS than what I'm currently at?
Let's say I can get two one handers with about 50% crit damage, and I were to put some good gems in them.
Where abouts do you think I'd end up on the damage scale?
As for the belt, I'm looking for a Witching Hour, but they're a bit pricey.. I will probably end up buying $20.00 worth of gold on the RMAH and try to use that to find something to get me started.
Thanks again!

Your crit damage overall is abysmal. Find crit damage on jewelry and boost the stats on your gloves. I also don't see how you can survive with just 3% life steal. Pump up the life replenishment stats (LS, LOH and/or regen), add more resists (which is something I should do for my monk) and vitality to boost EHP. I can't tell if your 70K DPS is unbuffed or buffed. If it's unbuffed, you should be able to hit 120K buffed paper DPS easily with Faith in the Light and Blazing Wrath.

I currently do MP3-4, so I the 3% lifesteal seems okay for me so far. I haven't really tried higher MP levels yet. I will keep that in mind moving forward.
Last question, is there a resource where I could "plug in" some new weapons to my profile and see what that would do to my damage?
Thanks again!

Look up DPS spreadsheets, damage calculators, DPS calculators, etc. that pertain to D3. They should exist in this forum (I know the wizard forum has one that caters to wiz's), and you can definitely find a bunch through Google.

There are a few floating out there in cyberspace, but I'm not sure which one is the best (and which ones are kept up to date).
I'm sure Jaetch can enlighten you (and me) about this.
EDIT: damn! Not only did he do just that, but he beat me to the punch

I found think post:

I'll try to plug everything in there and see what happens.
Thanks,

A while ago the dps calcs were not as accurate as those found on theasiangamer.com (there is a D3 dps calculator there) but it looks like they are now much closer.

I ran across a link for this calculator. Seems pretty good. It saved me from poor choices even just last night.
http://theasiangamer...age-calculator/
As indicated above, I made a couple of changes last night. Sold the EF and bought a Shenlong's Relentless Assault w/ almost 800 LoH. My net damage is less but my survivability is way better. I tried to do some donkey math on LoH vs. LS, and based on my current damage, I got a lot more out of LoH. Especially, bang for the buck. At my current damage, LS would have cost me 2-3x what I paid, even though supply was much lower.

I've made *some* progress.
I'd really like to break the 100k barrier.
I think I need a LOH/LS weapon with a socket and CD to do this.
Unfortunately, I only have about 20M to spend.
Any suggestions or does anyone have anything for sale that would help?
My next set of upgrades after the weapon is going to be Natalya's boots & ring, that should net 7%+ cc and some, hopefully, nice stat upgrades.
