This is an interesting idea. It is difficult to say what is better, more damage or more range with the fire rune. I'll have to give bladestorm a try, though I lean towards the fire rune because the enemies take damage for longer as you run by.

Two questions:

1) Is this build hc-viable in terms of survivability? I'd never let my hp get that low (50k+), but is it solid enough to avoid death if played with a little less recklessness?

2) How bad is rubber-banding with this? It killed my p44 ww barb and I'm not keen to repeat the mistake.

I am not sure if it is just my connection, but I notice rubber-banding much more often while using a tempest rush build. It is usually the only reason I will die. If you are doing HC, i suggest getting most of your spirit regen through gear rather than sacrificing your defensive passives.

You can build a defensive TR build but it is likely going to be used mainly for getting from pack to pack rather than an infinite TR build.

It is not viable at all in Hardcore unfortunately.  Its built primarily to farm fast and grind paragon less on the built to live side.

The Rubber banding for me happens to often im used to it.

What type of DPS is needed for a sufficient run of MP0?

I'm sitting at 55k DW (still need to purchase a Skorn).

I did try TR before without a skorn an a random 2H i had (1200+DPS), and I didn't seem to do much damage.

I see a lot of users in the 100k+ DPS, is that what is minimum?

It's pretty common knowledge that tempest rush at mp0 is the fastest monk leveling method... xp/hr will depend on your gear. Having no number here doesn't nullify the usefulness of any of the information.

90k will have some back tracking, I started doing this build around then and experimenting with it as gear got better.  125k is the sweet spot, you can certainly do it lower if you choose to.  However the time it will take you to do runs may not be better than your current build/s.

You will likely need 100k+ if you want to be the most efficient so you don't have to loop back to kill monsters. A decent skorn should help quite a bit, as paper dps is quite a bit higher with a 2h skorn than dual wield.

That being said, even at lower dps, a TR build on mp0 is still going to be more efficient for you than mp1+. Before I had high dps, I used tempest rush just to move between packs of monsters, then FoT them down and repeat. Infinite Tempest rushing won't be efficient (since they wont die in 1 run through) but using tempest rush to get to monsters will be.

lol you don't have to play for hours in a row to work out XP/hour. Do a few runs (doesn't even have to be back-to-back), time them, average them, then you can work out XP/minute (total xp divided by total time in minutes) or XP/hour (xp/minute times 60).

This IS your whole post. Dude asked you how much XP/hour you made, and you answered "I never play for more than an hour, so no clue". Maybe you should read your own post.

The underlined part is the same thing you posted in response to my own.  I essentially said that I do not play for long durations and I'd time a few short runs...Now I find it more appealing to reply to trolling than that so timing runs will not be done.  Pretty sure I've done enough work on The main post

it isn't exactly you suggest but I took your advice on the sweeping winds and SSS instead of serenity. I have been finding that Submission actually does amazing damage and has a great range. With this new build, farming goes much smoother and I find that I have more spirit to spend.

I think this is my finalized mp0 TR farming build.

Im trying this build right now, since it got me hooked up again (who knows for how long).
Bought Skorn 1400dps, 500dex, 150cd, inna helm with 2spirit regen, changed ALL my passives to spirit regen, took templar with his regen. Ive got 11,85spirit regen and I cant keep TR up for 100%...

I unfortunately got nats ring for 2. set bonus, so there is ias and hellfire ring with ias too. Guess there is no way for me to keep it up all the time... Farming speed is nice, I just dont know

edit: Also Ive got 158k dps with Deadly reach third strike and yet mobs dont die to first hit and I have to keep turning for them.

Yea the attack speed is probably increasing your swing timer too much for your spirit regen to keep up just like you said   If you have high spirit regen at a certain point Guardian Spirit works well to close the gap.  However you will definitely need more than 2 spirit regen from gear to get the most dps out for the TR.

In terms of turning for the mobs it will happen from time to time, you have to kind of wiggle through packs to hit more stuff sometimes.

I wish Bnet had profiles fixed so I can help you more by taking a look at your gear.  If you can let me know what your swing timer is after the haste from your rings and innas pants and any other haste you are wearing.

Regarding the Innas set bonus, the 3rd one is just extra spirit, you're aiming for the 4th so that you can refresh Sweeping Winds without having to reapply it which increases your farming speed.

Just keep in mind that Submission does not crit or boost and synergize with the snapshot damage concept of Sweeping Winds.  I am having difficulty thinking of a way to describe this.  Ummmm.  Like the Overawe doesnt just add 12%  it is adding the 12% to the 48% boosted Sweeping winds.  So overall you should be doing less damage with Submission.  That was the other selling point for me for Overawe.  I forgot to mention that >_<

However after playing a few games I dont think anymore its that bad with spirit. Its kinda okay now.
