Hey folks,

Just thought I'd share my new iPhone app for Diablo 3. Allows you to create and edit character profiles as well as items on your iPhone. I put a lot of work into this, so I hope you guys find it useful. Any feedback is welcome!

I'm new to the forum and can't post a link to it, so you can just search for "Hero Stats for Diablo 3" in the app store to get it. Maybe if a forum goer here likes it, they will post a link to it in this thread.

It's completely free and ad-free as well. Enjoy!

I don't see any way to change an item's type (such as Legendary/Rare/etc.). In addition, for weapons I do not see a way to add elemental damage or sockets. The item's DPS doesn't change after adding the average damage. The app looks great, but it is not as advertised. This app is unfinished and needs work to fulfill the praise given by reviews. If it has these features of which I am describing and more, there is not an obvious way to find them.

Yes all good points. Let me clarify a bit about the item editor....

As you can imagine, writing an item editor for Diablo is a fairly daunting task since there are somewhere in the neighborhood of 100+ affixes. In order to achieve success I had to cut a few corners in the way of cutting out the "fluff" involved in items. The main purpose of the item editor is basically to be able to try out different item stats on your toon and see how they affect your stats. The item editor is NOT meant to be a visual tool for perfectly duplicating items as they are in the game. That being said, here is what I did to achieve this:

- All non-stat affecting affixes were removed (elemental damage, special procs, sockets). The reason I removed sockets is because of the added complexity... you can just add the socket affect (stat) directly to the item instead to achieve the same effect. Also, elemental damage is calculated into the min/max damage stat. For this reason it's just fluff as you just add it to the min/max damage stat to achieve the same effect.

- All custom items are just flagged as "Custom" instead of Rare/Magic/Legendary as these are simply status tags and have no bearing on the statistical affect to your character.

So, even though many affixes are unavailable, you may still manually add the stats in the generic ways to the item to get the same affect they would otherwise have. I just couldn't justify spending a month adding all the little fluff to the item editor. Maybe I will add these back in in future versions. I think the only major affix I forgot to add was %dmg to a speficfic damage type, such as Stone of Jordan "Adds 5% to Holy Damage". I'll put that in in the next version.

I've found some bugs with your app. You may already know of these, but just in case:

When I load up my monk (you can retrieve him yourself by using my Battletag) his damage will be correct at first, but if I select a follower (for example) his damage will drop by 7k.

Also, when you first load a hero from the importer, the box that pops up says "Problem Downloading. This hero is now saved to your local hero list." It still works, but it says there was a problem even though there wasn't.

This is on an iPhone 4S (model MD379LL) running iOS 5.1.1 (9B206), if it matters.

These aside, it's an awesome app. Thanks again.

Thank you for the notes. I do know about the "Problem downloading" message... and that will be fixed soon.
As for your DPS stats... a few notes on that...
When you first search your profile, the number displayed is the number that comes directly from the API, so it's your DPS when your character was last snapshotted. Sometimes that number is accurate, but sometimes it includes activated skills, so it would appear higher than it normally is while unbuffed.
When you actually edit your character, my code will re-calculate your unbuffed stats (will still include passive skills and follower info). That being said, the DPS calculations are somewhat complex, and Blizzard doesn't publish them in detail, so I used the same calcs that most of the DPS calcs out there currently use. The number is usually not exactly as it is in game, but it is definitely close enough (usually about +-100) to be useful. Also, keep in mind that any set bonuses you have are not included in the calculation. The reason for this is I am waiting for Blizzard to fix their API to include raw set stats. As it is now, they only send the description srings such as "+130 Intelligence" but they do not send the raw data stat that the program needs. You can compensate for this by just editing an item and manually adding that stat to it... I know it's a pain, but there is no easier way until Bliz fixes the API up a bit.
