How much internet speed required for diablo 3 in INDIA?

Now i have bought a laptop with the following features:-
4 gb ram
500 gb hdd
1 gb graphics card(cant remember company name something like AMI/AMT/Radeon or something like that)
Windows 8
White Colour(LOL)
2.4 Ghz(While that is lower than the min req i remember playing wc3 frozen throne on my one even older pc that had 300 Mhz but although the cutscenes lagged for an eternity, the gameplay worked just fine)
Now i am wondering what net speed is required for d3.I know some wireless connections are not considered broadband,no problem for me though as i am not taking wireless internet.(Why? They promise speed of 1 mbps but the actual speed is between 1kbps-6kbps and i am not joking or exaggerating)
I am taking a true broadband connection for my laptop.
But I dont know what speed should i go for.
I googled "Diablo 3 minimum internet speed requirement" and found various q and a's where 40 mbps or more was suggested.
However, since my country is India and since 40 mbps internet might not even exist in the supercomputers of this country, i added India to the keywords and googled again.
Again i found many discussions where people suggested 1 mbps or more.
So i am confused. How can the requirements be so different?
Also i dont know what server region does India come in.Can someone tell which one?
(Although india is obvioulsy in asia i heard that they were included in some other region.)
And yeah, what net speed is required?

Back to topic:Hmm 4mb? That seems possible for me.Thanks for the info man.
Although what will happen with lesser speeds like 2mb? Will it lag and rubberband like hell?

Like australia world of warcraft players have connection problems with american servers, even with high speed internet because of higher ping

The easiest thing you can do is install the trial version on your laptop (can play up to skeleton king) and go to a friends house or an internet cafe and try it out. Make sure to check your latency http://www.pingtest.net

It's a common misconception that playing games online requires a huge amount of bandwidth. This is just not true. Latency is the most important thing, and Diablo 3 is pretty tolerant to it. Sure, spikes might kill you every now and then, but even if your ping is pretty bad the game is built in a way that you don't really notice it much. Heck, people used to play Ultima Online and Everquest on their dial-ups back in the days without issues. My dial-up at the time was 56.6 kbps.
My network card allows me to monitor my traffic, and while I'm playing I'm averaging around 3-4 kb/s of traffic. With that said, I don't see how even a 128 kb/s connection would be any problem, however, do keep in mind you might have to download patches occasionally.

Normally my latency is in the 100-150ms range. The game is very playable in this range, even when im being throttled back on bandwidth. On bad days my latency is 200-400ms. The game is still playable, but you can notice the game doesn't play as smooth.
So all in all, if your latency is under 400ms, you should be good to play. Hope this helps
