Anyone know of a way to make the sound that comes when a legendary drop any louder? Without having the make everything from the game louder? I've got some time off coming up and would like to go into zombie paragon grind mode and crank my music up but don't want to miss legendarys. I know the ping is there also but it doesn't last long and I'm sure some of you know how zombie mode goes.

The gold beacon on the screen doesn't alert you enough? Do you use a small monitor? I'd suggest playing your music through a different source (speakers) and use a headset for in-game volume as there is no way as of right now to seperate game sounds

You know stuff can drop off-screen.

Yeah, that sound is going to scale with all EFX sounds. Your only options here are to turn all other game sound off/way down and turn up you PC speakers so that the sound can wash through your music. I do this sometimes, as I love to jam old Slayer tracks

lol....sorry, I felt like breaking shit for a minute there. My advice is to set your music level, play it, then stand in town and drop a legendary on the ground to find the right level.

Zombie grind mode? I don't even...

I hate it when people use unorthodox terms and expect everyone to know what they're talking about.

Sounds like someone forgot their cereal box decoder ring. Set it to 'simple'.

The gold beacon on your mini map. You should see that long before you run far enough away that it doesn't show up on your mini map.

To be honest, I never ever look on the minimap in D3. For me, this is a useless feature. I loved the overlay map as in D2, and I hate the way they implemented it in D3. I have never seen any legendary drop on the minimap, I have to pay more attention to that; actually, I don't even know what it looks like. Someone cares to post a screenshot? I also heard it's only there for 5 seconds, is that right?

Questions about wizard gear? Helpful tools? Common wizard builds? What gear for my follower? And what is a black weapon?

Answers to these and many other questions in the Wizard Gear Guide.

Same thing here, I never use the mini-map. Always use the big one and yes; it sucks that we can't keep running while the map is is open. A while back I set myself to see if I actually got a ping on the map when a legendary dropped but my D2 reflexes never agreed. Every time a legendary dropped, I picked it up asap and then thought "oh yeah, I was supposed to wait and see if the map pinged..."

I often play without sounds since I'm watching TV and want to hear it but as far as I know, I have never missed a legendary drop (but how could I possibly know that?!).

although, I remember one time when I was clearing the keep level 2 and had to kite a few yards back to kill some blues. when they were dead, I pick up the loot and go further just to see that a legendary had dropped from one of the white mobs is the crossfire when I was kiting. I didn't see the drop nor the ping.
