I don't know if this is even possible, let alone useful, but I thought it could be nice that some of the AH items appear randomly in the vendors tab with the buyout price.

I think this could make selling easier and it could encourage people to put a BO price, which in return could help a bit in stopping the annoying AH snipers. it would also make the vendors more useful than just trash bins.

What you guys think?

Thing is, people don't like to set buyouts because it's easier to rely on bids. Plus it can typically make you more gold than doing buyouts, especially if you are newer and don't really know how to price. Interesting idea regardless (:

I know, that's why I think it would encourage people to put BO prices in their auctions. It may be not so great in an individual basis, but overall it would be better for the game economy imo

Sounds like a cool idea. I like it. Might make the merchant a little more interesting.

Meh, pretty useless.
There are millions? of items on the AH, of which about 99% you won't need or can't afford, how shall the system pick the items?
Also, why would I wan't to check a vendor for random items? If I want new stuff I go check the AH.

It could filter items by BO price (never showing any item that exceeds what you have), it could track your search parameters to show potentially useful items, etc... I said random because it was my first idea, but it could be better of course.

About going and check the AH, that's the main point, to not leave the game and to make things more interesting.

Would be way too much effort for a way too low audience, still. Tracking and saving all your searches on all your chars (afterall WD items showing up when online with barb isn't exactly useful) would be quite huge, too, afterall their server/database capacity isn't unlimited either. They could maybe add something like the recommended items tab, but... those are quite useless.

If you want people to stay in the game, why not just an npc that grants access to the AH?
