Hey everyone, I've been lurking here for months and blah blah blah I'll get to my point.
I've searched extensively for this, finding little discussion and no answers -

When a monster reflects damage, is it reflected as the type dealt? (i.e. Vanilla Monk is getting oodles of lightning thrown back in addition to physical, Manticore DH should be investing in Poison Resist gear, etc.)

I don't know a better way of wording my query or I'd likely have stumbled upon the answer by now.  Any input or links will be appreciated!

hum... that a very interesting question and am looking forward if anyone had an answer. I don't know why but i always assumed it was physical back. I am probably wrong but its either physical of the type of damage done.

I assumed the same until learning about the +elemental dmg affixes, as well as the way they interact with different weapons and skills.  It just feels like there are so many wrinkles that this particular issue can't be so simple.  I certainly don't mind buying some testing gear, learning to use screen capture software and soforth... but surely someone can save me the trouble!

its time like these that i wish blizzard would just release some documentation. Like all the effor of trying to figure out proc rates and what not, this... they have it all and it doesnt effect anyone to just release the data.

reflect damage is physical damage, I´ve tested it....let me try to find the post hmm

it reflects 10% of your damage as physical and it´s lowered by armor and physical resistance, presumably elite damage reduction as well
