Hello,

i am looking for advise regarding a drop i had today.

Until now i was wearing a Ik Triumph with these stats:
- 90 stre, 10% life, CHC 5,5, socket damage reduction from melee 5% - set bonus of 3 pieces IK.

But now Mempo dropped, my dps screens says its a average 4k dps increase with these stats:
- 102 stre, 73 int, 73 AR, AS 8%, 11% life, socket.

With the mempo my CHC drops to 52% and i loose scond set bonus of IK.

Which one should i be using? If possible a bit of advise with explanation. Thanks!

Id go with the mempo cuz it looks ahell of alot better then the IK helm

depends. personally I use mempo (17x str I think) but I still have 2 set ik.
What it all comes down to is do u want damage or defensive stats cause 52% crit without buffs is fine to avoid having fury problems and I would consider getting another ik set (read chest/belt/glowes are quite nice however glowes I think are generaly overpriced but I'm not sure) piece.

Personally I would say go for it

IK is better unless u can get a mempo's with crit

depends how you play
but i would say
low monster power level (1 to 4) = more DPS
high monster power level (7 and up) = more survivability

that said
im using the andariel helm with 169str, cc4.5 with socket and dont have any troubles clearing mp6 to mp8

im waiting for my mempo with cc before throwing my andariel

IMO, you should either sell the mempo and get an IK chest(so you can drop the belt for a witching hour, or drop the gloves for a well rolled rare/better IK glove), or sell the IK helm, and get the chest. If you upgrade your ammy with whatever gold you have left over to a 10% crit chance ammy, its almost like the mempo has 3.5% crit

In all seriousness though, selling the mempo would likely be the way to go unless you get one with crit due to how good your current helm is. You can get a IK helm with 80 more str, and the same crit with a fraction of that gold, and have some left over to upgrade something else.

The Ik helmet was a gift from a wiz friend, so cant sell that, because he has a barb too. Anyway Mempo' s like the one that dropped for me are only worth around 19m tops on EU. Only when they have CHC do they become pricey.

Most of my gear is from drops, i hadrly have cash, and the cash i have made sofar i have used to upgrade gems. Because in all honesty, the game is more fun if you get upgrades from drops then from AH. For me anyway

If you use ww barb, go with mempo. The increase ias will help your tornado proc much more.

My barb can keep up with wotb the whole time in mp6+. Of course, by keeping up, you will have to ignore drops.

you can take that 16 mil (possibly more) that you get from the mempo and use it on a 150 str 5.5% crit chance IK helm, and give the old one back to a friend then. You can also use that 16mil to get a new ammy.

If you dont want to buy gear from the AH, then upgrade your last gems, and maybe get a grand vizier and some good MF stuff for your enchantress. With 2 16% MF rings, a 36% neck, and 44% vizier, i get 22% MF from her, which isnt bad. The armor passive from the enchantress would also be decent for you as far as EHP goes.

You mean a Ik helmet withou AR, because for that price i dont see that in ah. Just ones with 150+ stre 6% chc and sockets for like 8m. I am using the scoundrel for his 3% chc

I mean i personally prefer the enchantress attack speed as I have 61.5% unbuffed crit right now, and the difference between the enchantress and scoundrel for my dps is 1.1k. I like the armor, and the erosion buff that she grants as it makes burning down extra health mobs that much faster. I also like the knockback of hers (sometimes). A big part of the difference in price between US and EU is pretty aparrent here, as i got a IK helm with 170 str, 5.5% crit chance, 12% life, and like 30 AR for around 25 mil. I think it had more AR, but my profile hasnt updated since i bought new gear this morning before the server downtime.

If you play solo, Soundrel is much better with a buriza. I have 20% freeze on him and it help so much.

I am in the same boat...I have an IK helm (have 5 piece bonus as well) but think i should move to a mempho.  Good idea?

I am at 54% crit with shout

any advice?

Eh, the only reason I use a follower at all is the bonus to MF, and the occasional cool ability that they have. The difference between having and not having a follower is 2-3k dps... not a huge difference to me personally. Once I get higher paragon, it will prolly be worth it to switch back to scoundrel, but I dont really need either the buff or the CC from them personally as its barely noticable when I do a run as it is. The freeze weapon sounds interesting for mobs that like to run away, ill look into it.

Depends on the rest of your gear TBH. 5 piece IK really isnt worth it that much anymore, but theres also no reason to have 4/5 equipped unless you are willing to upgrade another item as well so you get max benefit from most of your gear. If you get a mempo (with similar crit), you should think about either replacing the belt with a witching hour or a really great roll lamentation, or grab a really good firewalker/iceclimber

So i traded my mempo for a Ik helm with 6% chc and 174 stre and socket. Upgraded my enchantress to +24% MF

Honestly, if you can't sell the IK helm but can sell the mempo, there's no real question here. You'll get much more out of it if you just sell the mempo and buy yourself some other upgrades. It's hard to replace high-end "free" items, simply because you would only replace them when all your other gear is much better so that the value they "should" cost is nothing compared to what you are willing to invest in a single upgrade. Similar arguments can be used for why use a decently rolled hellfire ring - You can't sell it so it's one of your last priorities in terms of upgrades, at least until you can afford a much much better ring (and even that is only really true at paragon level 100 or once PvP patch comes out, as otherwise the 35% experience bonus is unmatched really).

i'd stick with IK helm, that melee reduction is HUGE and mempo has no crit on it

Why? Just to be clear, here's the short version: If you can't sell IK helm just keep that because the mempo isn't a big enough of an upgrade to justify using it instead of a practically free item.

Don't associate the "Damage" number with the amount of damage your character does. It all depends on the build and playstyle. Think about how individual stats contribute to where you draw damage from.
