Hello everyone.

Recently I geared up using the video guide on the front page using 3 million gold to farm MP2-3.

So far it's working pretty well. I'm able to farm MP3 and only die a couple times... here's my profile...

How can I make my monk more badass? I'd like to get up in the 90k DPS range... currently I'm in the high 30's low 40's.... depending on a few pieces

I currently only have 1.5 million gold to spend.

Any ideas on what would I could do (other then getting a ton of money to buy better items.)

Edit: I should mention that I just recently started running with the Enchantress as a follower.

Nope. You do need a 'ton of gold' to get 90k+. Don't expect miracles 1.5mil won't get you very far (maybe +5-8k with a very lucky buy)

btw get crit on amulet, that'll boost the dps, but basically you'll need to replace every single piece u have atm.

Yeah I have a crit amulet. A really badass one actually. It gives me.... I can't really think of it off the top of my head since I'm at work... but something like 50% crit damage, 8.0% crit chance, some dex, along with 200 something minimum damage (I think?). It's roughly a 7k DPS increase for me.

The reason why I'm not wearing it is because I have 0 life on hit without it. I was having problems staying alive farming MP3. But, with that amulet (903 LoH) I'm able to pretty much stand in anything and keep myself alive.

No free lunch man.

With 1.5M, you can only upgrade the gems to gain some DPS.

With 10M, you can get INNA helm and pants, which can push your DPS by about 10k.

To acquire 90+k DPS, you need 40CC, 300+ CD, and 2000+ dex with high DPS weapons, which can be done with 100M or 50M if you have the time, the skill and luck to bid on AH.

I forget to say something about your weapons.

The weapon DPS of OH matters for monks, 500+ is just too low.

To achieve a 90k+ DPS, you need at least 900+ MH and 850+ OH, though the higher the easier to achieve hihg DPS.

I think I'll look into upgrading my offhand tonight then.

The video I followed said that the offhand DPS didn't really matter all that much, so you wanted to try to get as much crit damage as possible. I bought that one off of the AH for about 80k gold.

I'll probably try finding a higher dps offhand with the 1 million I have now, and put the same gem in it.

Upgrade your OH is a correct move.

I value OH as much as MH as I don't want to micro-manage my active weapon to set up SW.

Your gem is too low, it should be at least 70%+ green gem.

I'll work on that after the weapon.

I certianly don't have enough money to make it. And last time I checked (last night) they were about 900,000k gold.... I can't afford that as this point in time.

When upgrading, try building a well balanced monk. what I mean by that is always try to have a 1/10 ratio on crit chance/crit dmg (and to some extent armor/resist). By doing this you'll get the most out of the values on your item. High crit chance/medium crit dmg devalues crit chance and visa versa.

Looking at your gear, you could find an OH with less crit dmg and more base dmg to even out your values. But if you see yourself getting tons more crit (atleast 6%) you can keep the amount of crit dmg you have atm.

If you only focus on paper DPS you are 100% correct, but crit chance has a bit more going for it as that increase the number of cyclones, therefore I'd say you shouldn't worry too much if your cc is more than 1:10 of your cd, the opposite is worse (unless your cc is above 30.)

Edit: Your gear looks pretty ok, I'd also get another OH as already posted with higher dps and either ls or loh. But then its going to be expensive... I'm around the same gear lvl as you and saving for Innas set.

fastest upgrade to gain the most dps is inna's helm, cheapest is like in the range of 500k, find one with high dex high crit one

next u have 2 options, inna belt or pants, for the set bonus, belt is cheap and fast solution, however, getting a decently rolled pant might be a better long term solution, try to find one with some arcane resist or vit, if tight on budget, then try to find a vit or arcane inna's belt
