Diablofans!

The 10 auctions cap was needed when millions of people were still playing the game to prevent the auction house from being flooded.

Since then a lot of people quit and less items are being posted and bought. Which makes the 10 auctions cap quite crippling.

Reasons to remove the cap:
- A lot less item are posted, cap to prevent flood is no longer needed.
- Items sell a lot slower, items tend to stack up in my stash quite a bit.
- Trading gear is much harder when you can only post x% of your items on the auction house.

What do you guys think?

I think perhaps you should be able to unlock more auction slots. That would be a sure way to get the auction house junkies to play the actual game. We do need more goals to go after, anyway.

10 items is fine.

What we want is we can see the sold price for complete item. So we can price correctly.

I think they 10 cap is fine.  I do not even come close to finding enough items worth selling to close to the cap anyway.  I am alos not the type to keep listing items if they do not sell.  I start the bidding so low that if no one bids the items must be crap to begin with .. lol

With 1.05 there is so many new crap on the Auction House. The cap is definitely needed! Believe me, you don't want to see an Auction House without cap. At the moment I sell rares to the vendor which would have given at least 500k each in earlier patches. You don't want  to flood the AH with more crap.
The possibility of canceling the auctions at any time is enough

This is true. But for players that do play a bit more.... I have 30 items worth atleast 2M+ (Thats pretty undercut too) And most of them are not selling as fast..

I think the cap is not needed, and the search filter works well enough to look through all the "junk" if you're searching for something.

The cap is partially Blizzard's way of throttling item inflation. The larger the cap, the more that the highest-performing players dictate the values in the AH.

If you're finding items fast enough that nothing you have in the AH is under 20 mil, then you're probably vendoring a ton of items that could actually sell for several million, simply because you can't sell. Or, you might have a second or third account, or be using lots of mules, etc.

If the cap is raised, your top items sell faster (if it's in your stash, there's no chance it will sell). As a result of this, you sell further down your list, meaning that you put even more downward pressure on AH prices.

The cap doesn't have much of an effect on players who are slower or play less, because maybe you're only finding 2-3 items/day that you think are worth selling.

I think the cap is fine. I think it would be interesting to make it a bit more flexible, though I'm not sure what the right system would be. Perhaps an "overflow listings" tab where you can list another 5-10 things but the cut is even worse so you only get 75% of the proceeds.

Obviously I have no idea if Blizzard's servers would collapse or not if they remove the cap, so I can't really make an intelligent vote. From a player's perspective, obviously there is no benefit for a cap, but then again nowadays I don't really play enough to reach it anyway.

10 is just not enough, I'm not saying they should remove the cap but would doubling it really hurt? I'm sure their servers can handle it just fine. More concerned about all the bots / farmers impact though.

I'm sorry, but are you retarded who think it will be fine with no cap?
The AH bots will and are going to rule the market. Period.
I dislike people saying period.. and now i'm doing it myself. But damn, think!

Oh, and about that, it will probably flood over with all crap you can possible pick up aswell, so imagine a bot?

People are already putting all the junk on AH...so no. 10 is fine.

I would support option to buy 5 (or 10 max) more slots as DLC. And same for extended storage.

How can you possibly know that less items are posted??
If items aren't selling it probably due to one of these reasons
  • It's overpriced meaning it's not a good of an item as you think it to be.
  • there's already too much junk/similar items there so it's hard to find your item ^^

How can you be sure?  =P

I agree with the majority of the posts here saying that the cap of 10 auctions is fine (yes, I'm capped most of the times too). Having it increased (removing it is imho out of the question) a little would be nice of course but from experience with other gaming communities, ppl with get used to the new cap and demand a higher one sooner or later.

One idea it to grant players with an authenticator like 2 extra slots on ah and perhaps a 4th tab in the stash ^^

Maybe an increase would be good but there should always be a cap of some sort. Maybe 15? 20?

Now they have like 6+ stats search it will be good if they increase the limit to 20.
You can filter out all the crap now anyway.
Before you couldnt.

Think again!
The AH will not be able to handle all the items if it's unlimited aka no cap.
As I said, everyone and bots will put out their items, even if it is CRAP. So what/who are the filters really helping? Us - yes  Server- no = Us - no
Learn to put out items you will get sold instead of crying for the ones that you can't sell. Be happy you can even cancel the auction.

I think the cap is fine, there are enough frivolous auctions as it is. The higher the cap the more spam there is from people carelessly throwing crap up with high buyouts.
