Personally, I'd just save up and get neither.

But it looks like you need a quick damage boost. I'll say Chantodo's for the high DPS, also there's AP on crit for your generic CM build.

thank you very much :)

yeah could use the AP for my build..

my biggest concern was more if the 81% crit damage was a higher damage upgrade than compared to Chentodo's 150 higher dps

Your concern as a CM stunlock wizard shouldn't be how hard you crit. You want to be able to constantly keep your spells off cooldown so having more AP on crit and more AP to spam your spells should be your priority.

If you're just wanting to compare overall dps, use a dps calculator or spreadsheet. Otherwise, the wand will likely give much higher effective dps because of the APoC since you currently only seem to have 1 source of APoc. 2 is recommended as a min and 3 pieces even better (though not completely needed if you're trying to just get started with the build).

Just a quick question for you mate. Why are you running with the storm chaser rune for energy twister? You aint running with any signature spells =)
Mistral breeze if you have massive AP issues.
But the best chooice is wicked wind, for the tornados to stay in one place aka near you aka near the mobs

Just a heads up :D

focus on getting crit to 50% and additional crit damage if you cant afford the precious attackspeed items. it can be done relatively easy with about 10millions
this will boost your dps  and your CM performance

i run with Storm Chaser as it was the best then i last time played, looking into what i sould go with now, but right when 1.04 hit, they nerfed wicked wind but not storm chaser :)

Wicked Wind if you have a ton of AP on crit and no AP issues.

Mistral Breeze if you have minimal AP on crit and some AP issues.

Living Lightning if you have no AP on crit whatsoever, but have decent DPS (attack speed).

To be honest, i'd never use Mistral Breeze in a CM build, even with AP problems. It just doesn't do what you want it to so it's too inconsistant and unpredictable, even if you can throw a couple out at a time. 16-17 APoC is really easy and cheap to get and makes WW much more useful than MB. If you want to go low or no APoC, I'd say try a blades spec or the living lightning build people are curious about. However, I think WW is the best choice, since the APoC is pretty easy to get.
