[Sembiance]

So I tired of switching between several different pages in Blizzards Diablo guide, so I wrote some quick code to create a single page, with all the weapons and armor and set bonuses on a single page.

This way I can just do a quick search for the text I am after.

I also wanted a page with all skills and all runes in the same page, so again, I could search for certain keywords. So I wrote some more code to do that. These are all fresh data, as of today.

It's always annoying how many clicks you need to look up a legendary, just to check if whether you got a good or bad roll on its stats. *Bookmarked* (and in fact, also downloaded to have it available offline ;-))

Could an admin edit the links?

Can we trust this? I never like clicking unfamiliar links, especially ones posted by new members with 4 posts. Be careful people.

Yes, I only have a few posts, I just dont post that much. I spend most of my time coding stuff or playing games. I read diablo fans via RSS and only visit the forums once in a while. The page is safe, just static content.

It's not paranoia. It's called being careful. With the sheer amount of bots that we've seen recently (most with low post count), it's not wise to go around clicking on links (even though those are just "texts" - I'll fix that btw).

Checked the links. They seem legit. I'm sure some people will find that useful. Ctrl + F is a lot quicker than googling an item And they load insanely faster than Blizz's website.

As Zero indicated above, I am just exercising due caution. The links weren't posted so that I could hover my mouse over them either and get a peek at the URL.

Paranoia and awareness are often hard to differentiate. However, over 10 years of online gaming and I've never been hacked or suffered any other account compromise.

The the OP; You have my apologies. Knowing you aren't a robot makes you somewhat more trustworthy.

I, Tiberius Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus, The God, with great regret inform you both that your computer knowledge is very questionable. Therefore, you should both refrain of spreading paranoia, yes, that's the word for having unhealthy and overstated fear. Furthermore, having not be able to see address cause it is written in plain text is, like, contradicting itself - therefore The God will share some of divine wisdom and say that it's actually way safer than real link which doesn't lead where it says it does.

There are free sites (other than hospitals, which often aren't cheep at all), that can help paranoid people check the links they're about to visit beforehand. There are also browser settings that disable redirecting. And practices that help people not get in trouble.  

What was not nice and forced divine intervention, was immediately question one person's credibility and goodwill, for personal general lack of knowledge of safe internet behavior. And 'being not a bot' is worse excuse ever

The God wasn't hacked in over MM years, and last time he was, it was an axe accident.

Okay, this is going offtopic. Could you continue this via PM? You both have a point: I would also be careful about clicking on links on the Internet (not just on forums, but especially those with weird URLs, like the one in Clavidvs' signature with a *.wix.com domain). But there are also ways to check URLs, like the one I pointed out in post #4. Neither of you are paranoid or impolite, but you're derailing this thread. This is about Sembiance's helpful website :-)

i second the Clavdivs opinion - having a web address written in plain text is about the safest way to have it. it is as safe as typing it in browser address bar. mere thing you (ruksak) don't know that is indicative of your general security knowledge...

How about next time you hand out advice you do so without coming off like some kind of rude joke? I intend not to flame, but any reasonable person would gleam from your postings that you present yourself in a very condescending, arrogant manner. Act like a normal, decent human being and maybe people won't think so poorly of you. Or at least maybe they'll consider your words without taking exception to the snobby undertones?

You NEVER visit websites posted by 4-post members without taking a chance at getting subjugated by some nefarious trickster, unless you go through checks to ensure the bonifides of the URL (who really wants to do that for random links posted by newbies?). Many people wouldn't stop and think, I only meant to give unwary members some pause. That's all I meant to say. I made my comments not, as Emperor Pompous insinuated,  to insult or call suspicion upon the OP. But rather, as a word of caution to other members. I was just trying to help, not pander to gratuitous paranoia.
