I'm just curious.
Is there any official and detailed information about how magic find works?

Regarding the "official" part of the question, there's also links in that thread to the in game guide where MF is mentioned, so that thread should contain pretty much everything you ever want to know about MF, and then some extra information for crazy people like me that like to understand everything as well as possible.
My EHP and DPS Spreadsheet, mostly useful for wizards.
My wizard, mostly useful for killing demons and collecting loot.
Wizard CM DPS Simulator, written in Matlab, release version 1.01
Comprehensive CMWW Guide, including gear and build suggestions, plus Uber strats

In my opinion this explains everything that one needs to know. One thing is unclear however... the game guide seems to imply that affix rolls are also affected by MF, which is not true afaik. I think this is a bit misleading.

Wow, I've never seen anything that comes close to the detail of information as is available in that post, additionally the fact that it is constantly updated is also very nice.

I can see 1 post with penty of infrmation, where 90% of it is made of assumptions and personal experience. And another one, that I can read in 10 seconds.
So, I guess the answer is no.
