TL 2 feels more rewarding than the current state of Diablo 3.

TL 2 fills that void.

I loved the idea of the skill points and stats going into what I chose. I think if loot was toned down a bit it would be pretty fun. With all that said, the game play is pretty decent, although the classes I tried seemed incredibly too powerful for the hardest difficulty.
D3 has it's own issues. But TL2 isn't a perfect game IMO.

And.. rare items being rare in D3?, really?.

Good rare items.
In TL2 I can go naked with 1 weapon and all my passives on max and smash heads in.

I wanted the feeling of items from D2 being in TL2 but aside from the yellows it's not really there.
If you don't use the AH in D3 though, yeah I can see how TL2 would feel more rewarding because you do find yellows quite often and occasionally blues and greens that are worth while. In D3 I've rarely looted a yellow and thought "this is awesome" but I at least had that feeling of "this is a good upgrade". It only feels "awesome" and "rewarding" when I find a legendary.
Anyways I think they're both pretty different games. There is not really a whole lot about them that is similar. D3 is online only, the classes and skills and item drops are all being constantly tuned and balanced. TL2 is offline, you can cheat if you want, you can play with friends, a lot of the skills are sort of overpowered but it's not a big deal because it doesn't really affect anyone. Aside from the UI and general dungeon crawler theme there isn't much of a similarity there.
I think it will be really interesting to see the mods that come out for TL2 and it's probably worth 20$ just based on general play (especially if you have friends to play with) and the replay value that mods usually offer.
Seeing how much work is still going into D3 though and knowing more to come I don't feel at all remorseful spending 60$ for the hundreds of hours I put into D3 either.
Excited to see what's in the future of both games.

- legendaries do drop, and most of the time, after beating a relevant (and usually, hard to beat) mission boss. That feels rewarding, it feels like: "after 5 mins of fighting this bad ass giant, I get some reward! yay!", and not.. "oh.. look, more blue items on the ground after dying 17 times in a row versus inferno belial.. yay..".
- I enjoy using my weapon!, I like how I can swing my mace, without any modification or special effect, just me and my weapon. I like that.
- I like the pet, besides the fact that he can shop and buy stuff, it is really useful, it actually kill stuff!, I can even train it with spells and it becomes even more useful. I like to feed it summon spells, and sometimes Im with like 4 minions, the pet and 3 more spawns. I do enjoy that kind of IA customization.
In terms of balance/items/etc there are some things that should be balanced/removed, but generally is fine, and I find enjoyable to pick a spell that I like, and upgrade it to the max, I hope there is respec later .
So far, those 3 things I think are better in TL2 than in D3. IMO.

Ya know what. As a moderator you are going out of your way to shit on TL2 every chance you get. You keep saying how you can face roll through the game, then turn up the difficulty. You realize you can do that right?
Since when is it okay for moderators to troll the forums they moderate? Would love some feedback on that from Daemaro.
OT: Hell yeah. 100% agreed. The game actually rewards you for playing a normal amount where D3 only rewards you (unless you are ridiculously lucky) for playing an obscene amount. TL2 feels a lot like D2, even when you crank up the difficulty which far surpasses any difficulty in D2.

Whether he wants to turn up the difficulty or whatever is up to him. Please stop publically discussing moderation and things that aren't really about the topic. If you have an issue, PM me about it, like the rules indicate.

Not on Veteran / Elite.
And low gear dependency is how the game suppose to work imo. In D3 a single weapon upgrade might double your DPS. It's pretty ridicolous how you can faceroll the content (normal, nm, hell) by going to the AH and spending like 50k gold. In D3 gear plays the game for you and for that i can't touch that game any longer ( i will problably only come back when they revamp the whole gear system, if they do so).
TL2 gear dependecy is around the level of D2, whos the big referential. If you get good gear you kill monsters faster and tank more hits, but you will not be a powerhouse (unless you have really insane gear).
In the end it's matter of taste. I think the focus of the game should be character development so the stats you place and skills you get should play a bigger role then the random loot you drop. Other people enjoy the trade aspect of the game more, so a loot based game will reward then better. Personaly i already make my money by trading so i feel no reason to do it on an game...

"In time the hissing of her sanity
Faded out her voice and soiled her name
And like marked pages in a diary
Everything seemed clean that is unstained
The incoherent talk of ordinary days
Why would we really need to live?
Decide what is clear and what's within a haze
What you should take and what to give" - Opeth

How could someone possibly say TL2 doesn't have the "feel" of TL1? I mean, they are pretty much the same exact games with different classes and areas. Also, saying the combat isn't brutal only proves he plays on normal or casual difficulty as anyone with the balls to crank up the difficulty would find that TL2 is exceptionally brutal.
This is a problem when anyone talks about another ARPG on this site or another MMO on MMO-Champion. People come crawling out of the woodwork to talk shit even having never played the game. And just like MMO-Champion mods are now getting in on the action here.

Try that on NG+ elite.
Softcore (Barbarian) (Wizzard):
Hardcore (Witch Doctor):
King Leoric Inferno - dead Butcher Inferno - dead

Try that on NG+ elite.
Common sense like that obviously does not work. Some people would rather talk trash and troll, spouting nonsense, rather than to use the mystical and magical option of turning up a games difficulty. I mean, hitting a button that says "veteran" or "elite" is super hard; didn't you know?
