Benefits
  • Extremely efficient Paragon Farming
  • Many drops due to insane amounts on elite kills/hour
  • 25-60 million XP/hour depending on your gear, class and farming speed

A3 Farming Route
Log out with Q "Kill Azmodan" directly in front of him (Checkpoint). Each run will start directly before Azmodan.
  • Clear Core of Arreat to the WP
  • WP to Tower of the Damned lvl 1, do one circle
  • WP to Arreat Creater lvl 2
  • Teleport to town, WP to Bridge of Korsaikk, clear Fields of Slaughter
  • Teleport to town, WP to Keep Depths lvl 1. Immediately enter Keep Depths lvl 2 and clear it.
  • Teleport to town, Log out, Resume Game
Variations
  • Pick up only legendaries & slayer (alkaizer style)
  • My version: also pick up ilvl 63 items, wait until inventory is full, put them in stash. ID entire stash every 2 hours and put items on AH
Gearing Barbarian for it
  • Mighty Weapon
  • 5 Piece Immortal King (optional)
  • 24 % passive movement speed (boots + 1 legendary)
  • 750 AR buffed, 45k HP, 1k+ LoH
  • DPS: The more the better, however this run works as long as you are able to clear it. Even if it takes you 17 minutes, farming Paragon with this method is still better than doing a full A3 clear.
  • Enchantress Follower
  • Leorics Signet (optional)
Barbarian Build Leveling speed depends a lot on your gear and class, however as long as you are able to clear A3, you can use this method. It is mostly about breaking down A3 to the 5 most efficient leveling zones, with a very high density of mobs and elites. Thanks to Alkaizer for sharing your technique!

I watched Alkaizer play a while, and the thing that caught my attention was Rend. He uses it constantly to improve kill speed, using it mainly after Whirlwind to finish off mobs while he runs towards other mobs.

This is insane but.. I feel that any class that isn't a Barbarian cannot do this to the extent that the Barbarian class can, which is pretty broken in my opinion.

A heavily geared DH should be able to do the same route as well. The speed a legacy Nat set can move and kill in a zone is down right sick.

I've been curious if these are the most efficient paragon route would that also make them the most efficient level routes at lower levels?

Finally someone who doesn't just post his video, but does a short summary as well. Thumbs up for that one. :P
Saw that route on alkaizer's stream, too and it was definitely quite fast.
You wrote "Pick up only legendaries & slayer" is that supposed to mean legendaries & set items? Also, all accessories should be picked up.

How are you telling which of the yellows are 63?  Do you just have the base items memorized?  If so, wheres the list of base items that are 63?

He answers this in the video, yes he has them memorized, as do I. Its not very hard to memorize.

1 Weapons:
Slayer
Demolisher
Arch Axe
Veil Piercer
Centurion Spear
Rune Sword
Exorcist
Desolator Wand
Heaven Hand

2 Handed Weapons
Titan Axe
Decapitator
Sovereign Staff
Doom Hammer
Warlord Sword
Hellion Crossbow
Guru Staff
Revenant Bow

Armor/OH:
Kurastian Asp (62 - But is top level for its tier.)
Demi Lich (62 - But is top level for its tier)
Sanctified Quiver (62 - But is top level for its tier)
Scared Shield
High Scabbard
Razorspikes
Archon "Anything"

I'm sure I missed something but that's off the top of my head.

I've changed this route to suit my class (Witch Doctor) while still keeping the speed/high elites per hour, Its lower EXP per hour but I personally think its more Elites an hour, for a non.. Barbarian, which this run seems to be tailored to.

Core of Arreat > Tower of the Damned 1 > Keep Depths 3 > Arreat Crater 1 > Heart of the Damned* > Keep Depths 1

*To get to Heart of the Damned, take the Arreat Crater 2 Waypoint and run left, to the back entrance to the Heart, Heart of the Damned is amazingly small and has 3 elites for a very short time investment, like Core and Keep Depths 3 and Tower of the Damned 1.

I switched to Arreat Crater 1 because Phase Beasts in Arreat Crater two are much more difficult to deal with then the Elites in Crater 1, the same thing applies to switching to Keep Depths 1 you no longer have to deal with exploding one shot assholes.

I added in Keep Depths 3 and Heart of the Damned because they are very small zones with little time commitment for quick kills, not necessarily good for EXP but it is good for Elites.

I tried this route last night and managed to pull off 20mill an hour but that is as Weapon Throw Ricochet spec, I died a few times and I wasnt 100% on the route at the start. Wit more practice I know I can bump it upto 30mil but im noway near as geared as you. I wasnt going anywhere near as fast as you but I certainly earned more than I did before. More then x2 more EXP and found a few legendaries :) Will be doing this alot more.

this is actually very true, just few pointers that you need to practice it a little bit if you go all-in charging with cinders-vault glasscannon since you just die to every poke. Of course you can have high amount of all resistances but 750AR, big healthpool and legacy nata in same package belong to the 1% of players :D

I personally make few a3 clears every now and then like this when i find the time but damn irl work makes my d3-career pretty weak :D

You can also hit control and hover over the item to see its ilvl. My memory sucks and I still dont have everything memorized, and I've had the list of names since release lol. You'll definitely get them down though after a while. I'm justy a little slow sometimes lol

Maybe barbs are different... but I like my path better. I tried his path a few times last night and it seemed slower than my normal run (and way less elites).

I'm a WD with a grave injustice spirit walk build so maybe that changes things but here's what I do...

Core->Tower lvl 1 (and do them all until I reach where spider lady is)-> Keep depths lvl 3 and backtrack all the way to lvl 1... if i reach a big dead-end in lvl 2 I'll teleport to town and WP to lvl 1 and make my way back to discovered area->I'll often do keeps lvl 1 until I hit a dead end->fields of slaughter->Rakkis Crossing Bridge clear (tons of mobs and elites) -> Stonefort (lots of mobs and really quick)

I think for most people, you should care more about elites than strictly paragon farming.
