Trade Scam and patch 1.0.4
Blizzard is well aware of the current trade scam issues. They are aiming to improve the trade window in 1.0.4 to help reduce this issue.

So exploits that effect your bottom line negatively are hotfixed.
And ones that effect your bottom line positively are ignored, ignored, eventually acknowledged, then finally patched?
Some changes can't be hotfixed. It's not a matter of "bottom lines," but of technological limits. Anything that affects client data (or information that's not stored server-side) requires a client patch to update: so things like art, the UI, system functionality, etc. The improvements we're making to the Trade window to help prevent scamming are changes that affect client data, so we'll need to wait for a client patch to implement them.

Earlier today we got word of a hotfix that was aimed at the rubberbanding issue. Lylirra hit the forums giving a bit more information on the hotfix.

I'd just like to add that it's not all skill based. You can be running around in the world/dungeon and just start rubberbanding around corners, over rocks, etc.
Full hotfix note reads:
- Fixed several cases of "rubberbanding" that could sometimes occur while playing under extremely high latency, when a character changed direction or movement speed, or when a character used certain movement-based abilities (like Tempest Rush or Whirlwind)

In fact, I have noticed MORE rubber banding the past few days than I have in a while.
Just to give you a frame of reference, the hotfixes were implemented around 5:00 a.m. PDT (today) in the Americas. Even though we know these fixes won't address rubberbanding issues for 100% of the cases we've seen reported, we still hope that they will reduce rubberbanding in general, so if you do continue to have problems, please let us know by posting in the Bug Report forum. That's really the best location for those types of reports, as it'll allow our QA representatives to document them and forward them on to our development team for additional review.
This is great, but any ETA on fixes for all the rubber banding, when your at >100 ms ?
To reiterate, we applied hotifxes to help address rubberbanding under three separate conditions:
- while playing under extremely high latency (especially spikey latency), or
- whenever a character changes direction or changes movement speed, or
- whenever a character uses certain movement-based abilities (like Tempest Rush or Whirlwind)

Until such a time when we are absolutely sure that the patch will be ready, only then will we provide an ETA or date.

The ”™” addition to the word "soon" is just a little nudge on the fact the we tend to say soon so often. I doubt it is actually trademarked ;-)
Anyway I can understand most of the points. I assume there is also a certain level of secrecy at blizzard to prevent leaks, that will cause just the problems you have mentioned.
Sure, that goes for secrecy as well. People tend to get angry or frustrated if they are disappointed by announced content not being released on time (or not at all), so we tend to avoid promising things if we are not sure they will be ready and/or working as intended.
why not say eventualy ?
I am rather sure we have actually said that a couple of times in the past when soon was too soon :-)
On a more serious note though, your feedback is noted... I understand that people would like us to be a little more specific than just saying soon.
just give us some path notes or headsup for whats going to change and instead of w8ting its wil be soon
The changes planned for the upcoming patch are not fully set in stone yet, so it is very possible that there will be several changes until such a time when a date for the patch has been set and the patch notes can be finalised.
If we were to post patch notes now, and if it then turns out that some of the things in those notes doesn't make it for the patch anyway, then people will get disappointed and frustrated and they're gonna have a bad time.
I totally understand that the whole "soon" thing is frustrating, but it is not nearly as frustrating as when something you were expecting gets delayed, removed or changed to something completely different.
Well I can see that the blues are back on the forum.. which is nice.
But why not respond to people who actually throw up good ideas on how to fix this game?
Again, we do not wish to raise false hopes and expectations. You should not interpret the lack of a blue post on any given topic as if we do not read them, because we do, it is just that we may not have any information or comments we can share on that particular topic. We do provide information and post comments when we are able to, but mostly, and more importantly, we gather the constructive feedback as well as all of those good ideas you guys post and forward it all to the developers for them to look at.
Rather than commenting on when a patch arrives I would love to see you guys acknowledge some issues and you will put the community's ideas into 1 basket and try to make something of it.
I believe we acknowledge issues quite frequently actually, take as an example the recent message from Mike Morhaime. We do claim that things are peachy and perfect, and we of course do agree with you all that there is room for improvement, which is something we are working on with great diligence.
Also, we constantly forward feedback, ideas and suggestions posted by players to the developers, who are interested in these even if they may not be very feasible. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
We've been reading your feedback on topics like this, and the good news is that, as a result of constructive comments in threads like this one, we're looking to make a number of adjustments to the AH, such as raising the number of Preferred Stats slots from 3 up to 6.
We know many of you would love to see an option to cancel auctions too, and that is also something we want to add.
You may also be interested to know that another idea which made it to the to-do list is making it so that stat increases which come from slotted gems aren't taken into account when searching for equipment.

These are things we're working on right now. Some of them are planned for 1.0.4, and some for 1.1.0. Please keep in mind though, that due to implementation and testing needs, our plans may move around.

Something else I might mention is that we want players to be able to search for stats on Legendary items too. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
Gems and Legendary Colors
This is actually something we are planning on doing :-)
The colour of the ground text on gems will be changed from white to light blue, which will make gems stand out more from gold drops and other common item drops. We also plan to change the ground text colour on potions, pages of training, and tomes.
What about legendary items? Certain zones almost make them invisible.
We have no immediate plans for changing the ground text colour of legendary items, but that is not the same as it might not happen at all though. It is something we are keeping an eye on for sure :-) (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
Blizzard Kitty, and What CMs Do
We don’t really make a habit of posting RL pet photos here, but I can tell you she is a rescued Siamese lynx mix with long ear-tufts and teal-blue eyes. :) I quite enjoy having her at the office, and it’s nice to be able to take a break every now and then and pet her amid the busy days (and sometimes long hours).
This is actually a good point. I would really enjoy a sort of "inside baseball" type look at what exactly a CM's job is. Do they pull double duty as a designer or developer? You guys obviously moderate, but what does your day entail?
This is one of those questions that, while straight forward, is actually incredibly difficult to define because our responsibilities as a Community Manager are so varied. We are liaisons between players and developers, and visa-versa, but the full breadth of our responsibilities is quite complex.
Some of our responsibilities include: attending meetings with developers and other departments, providing ongoing feedback to developers regarding player discussions, sharing information from developers with the community in a variety of formats (forum posts, blogs, Facebook posts, Twitter tweets, YouTube uploads, website galleries, etc.), moderating these when necessary, ensuring the appropriate content is localized and routed to where it needs to go, compiling hotfixes and patch notes, attending brainstorming sessions, writing, editing, more writing, responding to emails, and working within the department and company as a whole to try to better-support our games and community. We also communicate with fansites and help run the promotions and contests associated with our games, including everything from holiday contests to beta key giveaways. When events like product launches and BlizzCon come around, we support those as well.
